Joyce D. Liberman

BARRE - Joyce Darling Liberman, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on June 5, 2026. She was born on November 12, 1932, in Boston, MA. Some of her fondest early memories were enjoying her grandmother Fanny’s cooking and helping at her grandfather Davis’s dry-cleaning business. She was very proud of the fact that she taught her grandfather how to read and write English as he had immigrated from Ukraine. She loved reminiscing how as a young girl the trucks would rattle down the street selling blocks of ice, milk, and collecting “junk.” Each night, someone would come and light the gas lamp posts.

When she was 19, she agreed to go on a blind date with Paul Liberman, the nephew of her mother’s best friend. But when Joyce arrived for their date, Paul never showed—he had written the date down wrong in the calendar. Paul convincingly got Joyce to give him one more chance to go out. Thank goodness, she did.

In 1952, Joyce and Paul were married and went on to enjoy 72 years of adventures together.

One of Joyce’s most treasured times was living in England while Paul was stationed in the Air Force during the Korean War. While overseas, their daughter, Laura was born.

Five years later, and after the family had moved back to the states, their son, Michael Davis, was born in Massachusetts. She loved her grandfather dearly and named her son after him.

The family lived in numerous states along the east coast and in the Midwest eventually settling in Vermont.

While raising her children, Joyce launched multiple successful businesses. An excellent seamstress, Joyce custom-tailored three-piece suits for female legislative representatives at the Statehouse starting in the 1970s. Her family often heard her hard at work at her sewing machine into the late hours of the night.

Joyce was a very creative person who also hand-braided rugs that could be found in almost every room of the family’s house. Many people who saw these rugs couldn’t believe how beautiful they were and that she had created such masterpieces.

Her next business adventure was Pressed Flowers of Vermont. Joyce spent almost 25 years tending to her extensive flower gardens, picking, pressing, and arranging beautiful framed floral designs. Joyce and Paul traveled throughout Vermont and New England selling hundreds of Joyce’s artworks at craft shows to people from all over the world.

The couple also enjoyed volunteering and being involved with various community organizations including the Beth Jacob Synagogue, where they started the first Hebrew Sunday school; Meals on Wheels; the Vermont Hand Crafters Association; the Barre Senior Center; and the Twin Valley Senior Center.

But for all Joyce achieved, saw, and experienced, her most treasured time was with her family, her husband, her two children, her six grandchildren, and her two great-grandchildren.

Joyce lived a rich, full life. In her own words, she loved her life so much, she would do it all over again the same exact way. Joyce will truly be missed by her family and friends.

In her later years while residing at Woodridge Nursing Home she loved reminiscing and telling stories of the times she and Paul had spent in England and the long voyages on Queen Mary sailing over to and from England. Most of her stories centered on her love for her grandparents, and growing up in Boston, as a young girl.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Paul who passed in 2025, her parents, Nathan and Eva Gropper and her brothers, Joseph and Jerome Gropper. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Brian Ibey); her son, Michael (Nancy); her six grandchildren (Amanda Ibey, Alex Ibey and his wife, Jacqueline, Zachary Liberman, Kathryn Liberman, Jessica Liberman, and Madalyn Liberman); two great-grandchildren (Mason Ibey and Emma Ibey); and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Woodridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Home for the loving care they provided Joyce for the past two years. Also, thank you to the staff of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home for their guidance and compassionate care during this difficult time. There will be a burial celebration at the Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11am.

Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre.

Timothy S. Audy

NORTHFIELD - Timothy “Tim” Scott Audy passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, in Northfield, Vermont, at the age of 58.

Born in Central Vermont on April 27, 1968, Tim was the beloved son of Donna Colby Audy and John Audy Sr. He spent his childhood in Montpelier, Vermont, and graduated from Union 32 High School.

Tim was an avid sports fan from an early age. As a youth, he played a variety of sports and spent many afternoons playing basketball at the Recreation Center on Barre Street in Montpelier. He especially enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Red Sox and often made one-dollar bets with his brother David over games and seasons. Tim also loved playing cribbage, a game he learned as a child from his grandfather, Lancer Utton, at the family’s Worcester Mountain camp.

Music was another great passion in Tim’s life. Eventually, he moved to Austin, Texas, where his love of music flourished. While living there, he played drums in the band “Orange Mothers” and immersed himself in the vibrant Austin music scene, especially enjoying the annual South by Southwest and Austin City Limits music festivals. Tim cherished any opportunity to listen to music or jam on the drums or guitar with friends.

After returning to Vermont from Texas, Tim reconnected with the love of his life, Elaine Soucie, in Connecticut. He frequently traveled by train between Vermont and Connecticut to visit her before eventually moving there and building a loving life together filled with laughter, playfulness, and the companionship of their adopted dog, Marley, until Elaine’s passing in September 2025.

Tim was known for his kind heart and compassionate nature. His caring spirit naturally led him to work at the Texas Schools for the Blind and Deaf while living in Austin, and later as a private in-home caregiver in New England for nearly 15 years. Tim carried his dedication to helping others throughout his life.

Tim is survived by his brothers, Mark Audy and his wife, Kathleen Kenworthy; Paul Audy; and John Audy Jr. and his wife, Kathy, all of Vermont. He is also survived by his brothers at heart, Tim Azarian and Mike Trombly, as well as his nieces and nephews: Joshua, Ashley, Erica, and Emmaline Audy; Grace (Alex) Gabaree; Jessica (Justin) Lapan and Makayla Audy; Madison, Collin, and Ethan Audy. He is also survived by his aunt, Barbara (Jeffrey) Hartman of Alabama, and his cousins, Shawn Davis of Maryland, and Sharon Davis and her husband, Michael Burke, of Vermont.

He was predeceased by his loving partner, Elaine Soucie; his mother, Donna Colby Audy; his father, John Audy Sr.; his brother, David Audy; and his uncle, Ernest “Ernie” W. Colby.

Tim will be remembered for his compassion, loyalty, and love for family and friends. His kindness and gentle spirit will be deeply missed.

A graveside service for Tim, along with his mother, Donna, will be held jointly on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Worcester Village Cemetery, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the East Barre VFW Post 790.

Born on September 16, 1937, in Burlington, VT, Wesley was the beloved son of the late Wesley Guyette Sr. and Eva Bostwick Guyette. He was predeceased by his parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who held a special place in his heart.

Wesley is survived by his devoted spouse Michele M. Guyette, whom he married on March 19, 1994, at Saint Monica Parish, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. He leaves behind his loving son, Victor Guyette, and stepson, Andre J. Welch, who were the pride and joy of his life. He furthered his studies at Paul Smith's College in New York, where he developed a deep love for nature that would guide his professional life. Wesley dedicated 44 years to the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, where he wore many hats and mentored countless upcoming foresters. His passion for the natural world was evident in everything he did, and he was admired for his dedication and expertise.

A proud veteran, Wesley served in the Vermont National Guards as a Staff Supply Sergeant, where he became an excellent marksman. His military service was a testament to his commitment to his country and community.

Wesley was an active member of the Catholic Church and found camaraderie at the Barre Weightlifting Club, where he earned an honorary trophy. In his youth, he was also a member of the high school wrestling team. His love for sports was surpassed only by his love for his family.

He was a man of many talents and interests, including nature, fishing, swimming, boating, traveling, photography, woodworking, and art. However, it was his family that truly occupied the center of his heart. Wesley's quick wit, endearing sense of humor, and infectious smile could light up any room, and he delighted in making others laugh and feel at ease.
