As we head into our final weekend here after serving you since 2013, it’s hard to put into words what this journey has meant to us.

We’ve been through it all - media fear cycles, industry shakeups, and even a global pandemic, and somehow, together, we made it to the other side. What started as something at a local flea market turned into something we never dreamed of and we’re proud to have been one of the first shops in Shelby County to take that leap.

There’s no way to capture all the memories, friendships, and moments in one post. This place became more than a business. It became part of our lives. It’s even where I met my late wife, which makes this chapter one I’ll always carry with me.

This industry has changed a lot over the years, some of it for the better, some of it not. Through it all, we stayed committed to doing things the right way: supporting our customers, advocating when it mattered, and standing behind what we believed in. If there’s one thing we’d leave you with, it’s this: Support the shops that truly support you. The local businesses that care, that show up, and that helped build this community are the ones worth standing behind.

While this location is coming to a close, this isn’t the end for us. We’re already looking ahead to what’s next, a new space that better fits where we’re going and what’s coming in the future.

It’s going to feel strange not calling Bartlett home anymore, but we leave knowing we did what we set out to do and we did it with purpose.

To everyone who has supported us over the years, thank you. Truly.

After 13 incredible years, the time has come for us to say goodbye to our Bartlett location.

Since opening our doors in 2013, this store became so much more than just a business. It became a place where friendships were built, relationships were formed, and countless memories were made. My mother and I have had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people throughout this journey, and we will forever be grateful for every single one of you.

As most know, we made a huge effort to rebrand into Four 23 in 2024. Unfortunately, right in the middle of that transition, my wife passed away unexpectedly. During that difficult time, we were closed for an extended period and, despite our best efforts, we never fully recovered the customer base we once had.

We had good months and difficult months, but the industry has changed dramatically. With the majority of the market shifting toward disposables, the uncertainty surrounding the h**p industry after the new laws take effect July 1st, and additional v**e regulations coming in 2027, we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease.

Bartlett has been amazing to us for all of these years, but if we are going to have any future moving forward, we need a new beginning in a location that offers better exposure, better parking, and more opportunity for growth than this space can provide.

Our final day of operations at this location will be Sunday, May 24th.

To everyone who supported us, stood by us, and continued to shop with us until the very end, thank you. Truly. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve this community for over a decade. The memories and relationships we made here will stay with us forever.

Nope, doesn't impact me as it's not my thing, but a heads-up since the majority of v**e stores, smoke shops and gas stations sell the sketchy one sadly.

Tennessee just passed a full ban on all Kratom and 7-OH products (HB 1649 / Matthew Davenport’s Law). It passed the Senate today and heads to the governor. Once signed, it kicks in July 1st. After that, simple possession is a Class A misdemeanor (up to 11/29 in jail /2500.00 fine) and selling/distributing is a Class C felony, so no one will ship.

Kratom in my opinion had some benefits but as most know, I REFUSED to sell that 7 hydroxy (7oh) and it has NASTY withdrawals. So for any that got suckered into using it, you might not realize an issue until it's gone. Please look into some safe taper opinions or share the news if you know someone who uses it. Personally, it should never have been allowed to ever have been sold to begin with but sympathetic to those that have been using it.
