When I tell other clinicians that most of my work is with couples, the response is usually “I would never do that. It’s too intense.”

I get it! But the reason I love my work is largely because of the foundation that these two trainers have built for me.

I’ve had the rare privilege of getting to attend or volunteer at Externships in various communities around the country and I can confidently say: James and Ryan are excellent. Approachable. Focused. Fun. Transformative. Engaging.

This quote is a reminder that as EFT therapists part of our job is to help our clients increase their windows of tolerance. We do this in session by being fully present, getting curious, sharing our limbic system, and trusting the river of emotions to take us where the clients need to go. It is a hard place that our clients have asked us to lead them through, but we know that it works. WE, as the therapist, can't stop every time THEIR internal alarm system is ready to run.
