Rocking Horse Rehab Rocking Horse Rehab offers Speech/Physical/Occupational and Mental Health therapies with our horses for children and adults with special needs.

Our services are open to public and to private/public schools for the disabled. Rocking Horse Rehab was established in September 2001 and was located at the Essex Equestrian Center in West Orange until our recent move to the beautiful Lord Stirling Stables in Basking Ridge, NJ which sits on 500+ acres of beautiful pastures and scenic trails. An indoor riding arena allows us to offer services year

round and we look forward to enjoying the outdoor arenas and trails in the spring, summer and fall. Call today for more information!

Come trail ride with Bart in our Adaptive Riding program!

On especially beautiful days, clients get the opportunity to ride outside around the Lord Stirling property. This is more than just a fun activity- varied terrain challenges core strength, obstacles test problem solving skills, and the sights and sounds of nature provide good sensory input for those who need a little more.

RHR’s skilled therapists work with clients in the riding arena AND our traditional treatment room.

OT, PT and Speech sessions begin with our horses in the arena or grooming barn and transition to the indoor treatment room. This process awakens the children’s nervous system and allows them to fully participate in their therapy program.

Because RHR therapists are fully licensed by their profession AND educated by the American Hippotherapy Association, clients build productive, meaningful bonds during a full sixty minutes with the same therapist.
