You walk every single day without thinking twice about it. But did you know your walking pattern can tell us a lot about how your body moves?

When I watch someone walk, I'm looking at more than just whether they're limping.

I'm paying attention to how their ankles move, how their knees track, how their hips rotate, and how they load each leg.

Why? Because when one area isn't moving or functioning as expected, other areas may compensate.

That doesn't automatically mean something is wrong. But it can give us valuable clues about what to look at more closely.

At Lost Pines Chiropractic, we're interested in more than just where it hurts. We want to understand how your body moves as a whole.

Sometimes, the little things tell us a lot.

Your warm-up shouldn't just be something you do because you feel like you're supposed to.

It should prepare your body for what you're actually about to do.

Going for a run? Get your hips, ankles, and legs moving.

Lifting? Get the joints and muscles you're about to use ready to work.

Playing a sport? Move in the directions you're actually going to move.

You don't need a 30-minute warm-up before every workout.

A few minutes of intentional movement can go a long way.

Instead of asking, “What stretches should I do?”

Ask yourself:

“What am I about to ask my body to do?”

Then warm up for that.

Your warm-up should prepare you for the workout—not become the workout.

Ever finally get rid of your pain… only for it to show back up a few weeks later?

You’re not crazy. And it doesn’t necessarily mean the treatment “didn’t work.”

Sometimes we get really good at making the pain go away without ever figuring out what was contributing to it in the first place.

Your body is incredibly good at compensating. One area stops doing its job well, another area picks up the slack, and eventually…that system can only compensate for so long.

Then the pain comes back.

That’s why I’m less interested in just asking, “How do we get rid of the pain?”

I want to know, “Why did your body get here in the first place?”

Pain is important—but it’s only part of the story.

Your body doesn't need perfect posture.

It needs movement!

We spend so much time worrying about sitting “the right way” when the bigger problem is often just sitting in the same position for hours.

Even perfect posture isn't great if you never move.

Take a walk. Change positions. Stand up. Stretch. Reach overhead. Move your body throughout the day.

You don't need a perfect posture routine.

You just need to move more and sit less.

I'd much rather see you move imperfectly every day than sit perfectly all day.

And if you're dealing with stiffness or pain that just won't go away, that's worth paying attention to.

Got a herniated disc? That does NOT mean your back is ruined.

In fact, some of my favorite patients to work with are people dealing with disc injuries.

Not because I like seeing people hurt—but because so many of them walk into my office scared and convinced they’re broken.

They've been told they have a bulging or herniated disc, seen it on an MRI, and immediately start thinking about what they’ll never be able to do again.

But your MRI is only one piece of the puzzle.

Every person and every disc injury is different. My favorite part is helping people understand what's actually going on, giving them a plan, and watching them regain confidence in their body.

You are more than your MRI. 🙌

One of my favorite questions to ask a new patient isn't:

“Where does it hurt?”

It's:

“What have you stopped doing because of it?”

Because pain isn't just about where it hurts. It's about what it's keeping you from doing—working out, playing with your kids, sleeping well, golfing, gardening, or just enjoying your normal day.

That's what I want to understand at Lost Pines Chiropractic.

Because helping you feel better is important. But helping you get back to the life you want to live? That's the real goal.

If your headaches always seem to start in the same spot, it might be worth paying attention. 👀

Especially if they start around the base of your skull and seem to work their way up.

Your neck may be contributing to the problem—but not every headache comes from your neck, and that's important to recognize.

Stress, long days at a desk, staring down at your phone, poor sleep...there can be a lot of pieces to the puzzle.

Instead of just asking, "How do I get rid of this headache?"

Sometimes it's worth asking:

"Why does this keep happening?"

That's the approach we take at Lost Pines Chiropractic—looking at the whole person and trying to understand what's contributing to the problem, not just chasing the symptom.

If headaches have become a normal part of your week, we'd love to help you take a closer look.

How many times have you caught yourself cracking your neck just to make it feel "right"? 👀

Here's the thing...

That pop might feel good, but the crack itself isn't necessarily what your body needed.

If you're constantly popping your neck throughout the day just to get temporary relief, it may be worth asking a better question:

**Why do I keep feeling like I need to crack it?**

Sometimes the joints making all the noise aren't the joints that need the most attention.

At Lost Pines Chiropractic, we're less interested in chasing the pop and more interested in figuring out why your body keeps asking for it in the first place.

Your body is giving you information. Let's pay attention to it.
