Policy Update for Late Arrival Policy
Effective Immediately

To help us stay on schedule and provide each patient with the time and attention they deserve, we are updating our late arrival policy.

Any patients who arrive 10 minutes or more after their scheduled appointment time will be considered a NO-SHOW and will be charged a $20 no-show fee.

You will also be asked to reschedule your appointment.

We understand that unexpected circumstances happen. If you are running late or unable to make your appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible at 662-667-8809.

The joys of insurance running the world of medicine! 💊 they get to decide what medication my patient needs instead of me, the provider, the DOCTOR! They get to say I should use this in combination with medications that are contraindicated for any patient to receive or use a med that is contraindicated for my patient. Instead of taking care of my patients, I just spent 68 minutes on the phone trying to get to a person to write a few words in the computer and send it to someone else who will tell me within next 72 hours if my patient can have that medication. And if they approve it I still don’t know how much the patient will actually have to pay for it at the pharmacy!!!! If I was an employed physician I would have never taken the time or asked my nurse to try to appeal it because there would have been no way to stay on the phone that long! …end of rant for now…

FMLA & Disability Paperwork Policy

To ensure accurate and appropriate medical documentation, please note the following:

-Completion of FMLA and disability paperwork is at the provider's sole medical discretion.

-Not every medical condition qualifies for FMLA or disability benefits.

-Disability paperwork will not be completed for patients who have been established with Alvarez Family Medical for less than six (6) months.

Medical documentation will be based on the patient's medical history, examination findings, and clinical judgment.

Dr. Alvarez will be out next week at the MAFP annual meeting learning more on how best to serve and take care of our patients. The office will still be open through Thursday and Mrs. Megan will be seeing patients. Dr. Alvarez’s patients can still call the office with any concerns and the team will get you handled or reach her with any additional needs. Remember to always call and leave an urgent voicemail for any after hours needs. Thank you for choosing to be apart of our family!!
