MMH is in Batesville, Indiana, conveniently located off I-74 between Cincinnati, Ohio and Indianapolis. We serve a population of more than 65,000 residents in Ripley, Franklin and surrounding counties. The hospital provides a broad scope of services including 24-hour emergency, family-centered maternity, outpatient rehabilitation, hospice and oncology.

Our nursing and clinical teams provided seamless patient care throughout the transition; our EMS partners safely transported patients to their new rooms; our IS team kept critical technology and systems running smoothly; our Environmental Services team ensured spaces were clean and ready for patients; our Maintenance team kept the new facility operating smoothly and responded to needs throughout the move; our Materials Management team ensured departments had the supplies they needed; and our Food Services team kept patients and staff fueled throughout the day. And these are just a few of the many people who worked together behind the scenes to make the move a success.

The excitement and pride could be felt throughout our new hospital. What an incredible day for MMH and the communities we serve!

This week has been filled with many meaningful โ€œlastsโ€ as we closed one chapter in MMH history. One of the sweetest moments was the birth of the final baby at our old hospital.

On August 6, Tucker David was born to Raymond and Julie Henry of Greensburg, officially becoming the last baby born within those hospital walls. Delivered by Dr. Emily Housley, Tucker weighed 9 lbs. 4.4 oz. and measured 20.5 inches long.

The moment carried even more meaning for Julie, who is a labor and delivery nurse at MMH. She shared that while she had thought there was a chance she might deliver the first baby at the new hospital, she never considered that she could have the last baby born at the old one. She described the experience as โ€œvery sentimental.โ€

Tucker was welcomed home by his big brothers, Lane and Samuel. Congratulations to the Henry family and welcome, Tucker! Youโ€™ll always have a special place in MMH history.

For nearly a century, this hospital has been more than a building. It has been the place where lives began, healing happened and memories were made.
