💛 TESTIMONY NIGHT 💛

This Thursday, one of our sisters is going to stand up and get real with us.

Here's the thing about testimonies — you never know exactly what's going to hit home. Maybe it's her story of walking through the exact same hurt you're carrying. Maybe it's a habit that sounds a little too familiar. Maybe it's just watching someone be brave enough to say "this happened to me" out loud in a room full of people.

Whatever your hurt, habit, or hang-up is — chances are, someone in that room has been there too. That's kind of the whole point.

Come hear her story. Bring your coffee cup (we'll fill it), grab a snack, and let the kids run wild in childcare while we sit and listen to something real.

🍿 Lesson 16: Amends 🍿

Let's be honest: "making amends" sounds like something you'd rather schedule for "someday" — right next to cleaning out the garage and finally calling your dentist back. 😅

But here's the thing — amends isn't about groveling or beating yourself up. It's about freedom. As Cassandra will show us this Thursday, making amends is as much a gift to yourself as it is to the person on the other end. It's how the past stops having a say in your future.

So if you've been carrying around an apology you keep meaning to make (or one you're scared to make), this lesson is for you. Cass's got the tools, the heart, and — knowing her — probably a story or two that'll make you laugh right before it makes you think. 💛

💙 Testimony Thursday: Kenny Lohr 💙

This Thursday at Celebrate Recovery, we get to hear from someone who knows firsthand what it looks like when God rebuilds a life from the ground up.

Kenny’s story starts with a lot of pain — abuse, a rough upbringing in a biker lifestyle, time in the military, and years spent deep in drugs and alcohol. He hit rock bottom more than once. But after rehab led him to Celebrate Recovery and Lifeline Church, something shifted. The real change didn't start with getting sober — it started with his heart.

In Kenny's own words: drugs and alcohol weren't his problem — a broken heart and mind were. Once he let God in, everything else began to fall into place.

Since then, God has done immeasurably more than Kenny ever imagined. He's restored what was lost, opened doors Kenny never expected, given him a family, and turned him into a leader — in CR, in his church, and in Foundations for Recovery.

🌿 AUGUST is a Fresh Start. 🌿

A new month is a reminder that God's mercies are new every morning and His grace is sufficient for every step of our recovery journey.

Whether you're just beginning, returning after being away, or continuing to walk faithfully, August is another opportunity to grow closer to Christ and experience the freedom He offers.

Here's our August Challenge:

A – Accept God's grace one day at a time.
U – Understand you were never meant to recover alone.
G – Grow through honesty, not perfection.
U – Use your story to encourage someone else.
S – Surrender what you cannot control.
T – Trust Jesus with every step of your recovery.

Recovery isn't about having a perfect past—it's about taking the next faithful step with Jesus today.

🙏 Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of a new month and a fresh start. Help us to walk in honesty, surrender our fears, trust You completely, and extend Your grace to others. Strengthen us to take the next right step each day, knowing You are with us through every victory and every struggle. Continue transforming our hearts and drawing us closer to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
