Alzheimer's Services Of The Capital Area Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area is a non-profit organization based in Baton Rouge, LA.

Alzheimer’s Services is not affiliated with a national organization; therefore, all funds raised remain in our 10-parish service area to fulfill our mission of making a significant difference in the lives of those coping with Alzheimer’s disease. We do this through our 3 core principles of teaching, caring and connecting. We have an award-winning day center, Charlie's Place Respite Center, a program for individuals with early to mild stage Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disorders designed to provide cognitive stimulation and social interaction. We also have several support and educational programs to help guide caregivers and those affected along the arduous journey that is Alzheimer's disease. Our resource library offers endless materials from educations DVDs to pamphlets on numerous topics to local care options. We are your local resource for everything related to Alzheimer's disease.

🌿💜 A Beautiful Transformation at Charlie’s Place 2, Gonzales! 💜🌿

We are incredibly grateful to Methanex for the tremendous work they did to transform the outdoor space at Charlie’s Place Gonzales!

Methanex employees went above and beyond, providing all of the materials and the labor to make these wonderful improvements:
🦋 Reimagined the butterfly garden, including painted rocks
🌱 Added beautiful new plants and refreshed the flower beds
🐦 Created a hummingbird garden with a birdbath
🪑 Added two new benches for our clients and care partners
🌿 Added a new pavilion with comfortable seating for outdoor gatherings
🥕 Installed new metal-framed raised gardens where our clients can participate in gardening
💙 Refinished our blue outdoor furniture
🌻 Left extra soil and gardening supplies so we can continue to replenish and maintain the gardens

These improvements have created a beautiful, peaceful and engaging outdoor environment where our clients can garden, relax, connect with nature and make meaningful memories.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Methanex for investing your time, talent and resources into Charlie’s Place Gonzales. Your generosity has made such a lasting impact on our clients, their families and our team. 💜
