Yesterday evening we were honored to attend the Business Report’s Excellence in Healthcare Awards banquet. I’m incredibly fortunate to work alongside physicians, office staff, nurses, therapists, and administrators who share the same commitment to our patients.

Improving healthcare is a team effort, and I’m grateful to be part of a group that constantly looks for better ways to deliver care.

Most importantly, our patients — their trust is what makes this profession so meaningful. Every person who “walks” into my office reminds me why I chose medicine in the first place.

This is us — the faces behind the care, united by the same purpose.

Tomorrow night is Baton Rouge Business Report’s inaugural 2026 Excellence in Healthcare Awards banquet celebrating individuals, teams and organizations who are reshaping how care is delivered in our community — and I’m honored to be one of three physicians nominated for “Outstanding Practitioner” for the work I love.

Orthopedics is often measured one patient at a time — one injury, one recovery, one return to movement. But the impact reaches further: helping people restore confidence, reclaim mobility, and get back to their lives safely. With advanced fellowship training in both sports medicine and foot & ankle surgery, I’m able to bring a broad, coordinated approach to complex injuries, arthritis, and mobility challenges across multiple parts of the body.
This event is a reminder of why I chose this path: to make care fit the patient, not the other way around. Excited to celebrate tomorrow night with others committed to furthering healthcare excellence in Baton Rouge.

This magazine highlights Baton Rouge’s top people, places, and professionals. Being recognized as the best doctor is an incredible privilege and I’m appreciative of my ability to serve our community.

Small wins lead to big outcomes — and today’s win is a strong, steady single‑leg calf raise... At only 13 weeks post-Achilles repair!

This patient has been putting in the work, and it shows. Under the guidance of Physical Therapist Jack Higdon, we’re seeing improved calf strength, ankle stability, and overall control — all key milestones on the road back to full function.
This patient has specifically also gone to the gym six days a week, putting in his calf work!

This kind of strength and control this early isn’t the norm—it’s the result of consistency, patience, and following my rehabilitation protocol.
Compared to the average recovery timeline, this patient is ahead of the curve—but every journey is different. Stay the course, trust the process, and respect the timeline.

Every rep matters. Every step forward counts. We are all so proud of the effort and consistency on display here!

As an orthopedic surgeon, I spend most days helping others get back to the activities they love… so this year I made sure I committed to one of my own. I completed an Ironman on November 1st, and tomorrow I’ll be lifting only a fork! 😅🦃
