Another Samantha is in the house, y’all! Warmly, welcoming her to our Baton Rouge Perinatal Counseling collective. 🫶

Samantha, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist in private practice, resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is originally from Avoyelles Parish. She provides both in-person and telehealth psychotherapy to individuals across Louisiana through her practice, Samantha Gremillion, LCSW-BACS

Her areas of focus include anxiety, trauma, maternal mental health, grief, perfectionism, and life transitions. Drawing from both professional training and personal experience, Samantha is passionate about supporting women through the tender seasons of preparing for motherhood, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the identity shifts that often accompany these transitions.

She also enjoys exploring the complexities of balancing professionalism and parenting, while helping clients gain a deeper understanding of how past experiences may be contributing to present-day stress, anxiety, and relationship patterns.

Samantha utilizes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), integrating an IFS (Internal Family Systems) informed approach, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices. She regularly engages in trainings and consultation to continue deepening her knowledge and skills in these areas.

As a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, Samantha offers consultation and supervision to social workers and therapists seeking to strengthen their confidence, competency and clinical growth. She also enjoys providing workshops and trainings to increase mental health awareness within the community.

Samantha is grateful and excited to be a part of the Baton Rouge Perinatal Collective and is looking forward to connecting with and supporting women throughout the perinatal journey. Whether you are seeking therapy, workshops/trainings, or clinical supervision/consultation, Samantha can be reached through her website, www.samanthagremillionlcsw.com, or by email at [email protected].

PSA for Baton Rouge ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

There is a lot of misinformation being posted and shared right now given a local news story. Your strong reactions are a normal response, too. Unfortunately a postpartum experience often has to escalate to tragedy to get media attention.

Postpartum Psychosis is a serious medical emergency. However, most people who do experience PP do not harm themselves or anyone else. There is a risk of danger when psychosis includes delusional thinking and irrational judgement. Do NOT turn avoid a mama who is having a hard time.

It can be overwhelming as a spouse, a support person, or a family member, when a new mother is in crisis. BUT HELP IS AVAILABLE!!!

Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 833-852-6262. Available 24/7 to speak to a counselor trained in maternal mental health to help advise on next steps.

If your baby has been admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you are likely overwhelmed, scared, and full of questions.

Share this with someone who is expecting. It can't hurt to be prepared, since many NICU stays are not planned.
