Born prematurely at 29 weeks, Trenton spent his entire life in the hospital while receiving care for complex medical needs and undergoing heart surgery. Through every challenge and every milestone, his parents waited for the day they could finally bring their first baby home. Now, their long-awaited chapter at home can finally begin with support from Aveanna!

With his Aveanna Nurse Tracy by his side, Trenton will receive skilled nursing care during the week, giving his parents the support and peace of mind they need as they return to work full time.

Trenton’s journey home has been nine months in the making, and we are overjoyed to be part of what comes next. At Aveanna, it is a privilege to help make this new chapter possible for Trenton and his parents, giving them the support to embrace life together at home. Welcome home!

We encourage everyone in affected areas to remain vigilant and be prepared for the effects of this storm including possible power outages and road closures.

We want to make sure our Aveanna community is prepared. Patients and their families should follow these tips based on guidance from the Oley Foundation:
• If there is a true medical emergency, please call 911.
• Make sure you have back up power or batteries ready for any medical devices or pumps you depend on. Keep a battery powered radio and your cell phone charged so you can stay informed.
• Plug in any medical equipment or devices that need to be charged (e.g., ventilators, feeding pumps, mobile phones, etc.)
• Listen to appropriate warnings from governmental officials advising of precautions and evacuations.
• Check with home care suppliers and medical providers NOW to ensure that you have enough medications and nutritional supplies (formula, HPN, etc.) to last at least 48–72 hours, in case of supply chain delays.
• Write down important telephone numbers in case you cannot access the contacts on your mobile phone. This includes, but is not limited to, your home care company branch, regional and national offices.

After 3 years of trying to conceive, Nathan and Tina were overjoyed with the pending birth of their son. Their journey took an unexpected turn when Alaster was born at just 25 weeks gestation, weighing only one pound.

Faced with complex medical challenges, the family quickly adapted to meet their son's needs. After spending his first 10 months in the hospital, Alaster was finally able to come home just in time to celebrate his first birthday, with support from Aveanna.

As Nathan serves in the military and Tina pursues her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, having dependable nursing care for Alaster was essential. Thanks to Aveanna nurses Kristin, Savanna, Yamilet, and Kristal, Alaster and his family have the support they need every step of the way. Tina can focus on her studies knowing Alaster is receiving exceptional care, and Nathan has peace of mind when duty takes him away from home.

Welcome to the Aveanna family, Alaster! We are honored to be part of your journey.
