We’re excited to share that our very own, Georgia Small, is the only Couples Therapist with an RLT Certification offering in person appointments in the Baton Rouge area.

Relational Life Therapy (RLT) was developed by internationally recognized couples therapist and bestselling author Terry Real. It’s a direct, highly relational approach that helps couples move beyond simply managing conflict to identify the patterns keeping them stuck, heal the wounds underneath those patterns, and learn practical skills for creating lasting connection.

For couples who feel like they keep having the same arguments, experiencing the same hurts, or getting stuck in the same cycle, RLT offers a different way forward.

We are incredibly proud to have Georgia bring this specialized level of couples therapy to Baton Rouge Counseling Associates and to couples in our community.

We love seeing our counselors investing in the community and advocating for mental wellness. We’re proud of Stephenne for sharing this important message with the Southern University Women’s Basketball Team. 💙💛

I'm grateful for the opportunity I had on Wednesday to spend time with the incredible Southern University Women's Basketball Team for a conversation about Mental Wellness is the Flex.

We talked about the importance of protecting your mental health with the same intentionality you protect your physical health. Success on the court means very little if you're struggling in silence off the court. We discussed communication, managing conflict, emotional awareness, building trust, and creating a team culture where checking in with one another is seen as a strength—not a weakness.

These young women have already proven what they can accomplish together, and I have no doubt their greatest victories are still ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to the Southern University Women's Basketball coaching staff for recognizing the importance of mental wellness. A very special thank you to Coach Patrece S. Carter for entrusting me with the opportunity to pour into these remarkable student-athletes. It was truly an honor, and I look forward to watching them continue to thrive—both on and off the court.

💙💛

Every summer, I see a different kind of anxiety in high school and college students.

The pressures of the school year may be gone, but so is much of the structure.

Without realizing it, many young people lose the routines that support their mental health—sleep, movement, social connection, purpose, organization, and self-care.

When the wheel gets wobbly, life gets harder.

When anxiety gets louder, ask:

“Which spokes on my wheel need attention?”

The answer is often there.
