Swinging harder and swinging faster are two very different things.

Effort is a very important part of improving and training swing speed but it needs to be applied at the right times. This can be an important part of speed training.

Efficiency of movement is also important. I like Mach 3 training tools for this.

Lastly building a bigger engine in the gym via basic strength, power, and mobility training will allow you to generate more speed without more effort needed.

School is winding down and the weather is heating up! Summer is right around the corner, it's the perfect time to become a member of the 2026 Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour Presented By Crown Buick GMC!

Each member of the 2026 Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour will be granted immediate access to register to compete in up to seven (7) one-day events at $50 per event. Additionally, members will have the chance to earn a spot to play in two points-based invitational tournaments on July 20th at The Club at Diamondhead (BC Cup Championship) and July 23rd at TPC Louisiana (Tour Championship)! Members may earn their invite to compete in the two invitational tournaments by accruing Player of the Year points throughout the summer, as well as by finishing in the Top-3 of their age division in any tournament from Weeks 1-7. Invites to register for the BC Cup Championship and Tour Championship will be sent to players as they are earned throughout the summer.

Lunch and drinks will be provided to each player at every KGJGT tournament during the summer, and scholarship opportunities are available to eligible members of the 2026 KGJGT in conjunction with the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust Mentorship Program.

Each year the Kelly Gibson Foundation strives to provide all members of the Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour with high-quality, practical, and useful tee gifts. We are very excited for our members to take home their new tee gifts this year! Players will receive a custom KGF performance polo shirt, a custom KGF hat, a 1-hour lesson at the Rob Noel Golf Academy, an additional 1-hour TPI Evaluation with Guidry Golf And Sport, member discounts on all Allstate Sugar Bowl Fall Series events this year, the ability to earn Junior Golf Scoreboard ranking points to help them on their journey to college recruitment, opportunities to win college scholarships for members who are juniors in high school through 5th year seniors in college, and more surprises to come!

Had a great time helping out at the LHSSA State championships the last 2 days.

Had more parents and coaches come by with issues and questions than players lol.

Want to say congrats to GGS athletes on some great play:

Bennett Lanasa T7
Emery Kane 6th

They all fought back posting significantly better scores in the second round proud of how these kids have worked and finished out the season.

I also want to say a little note on GGS athlete Rylan Hess.

He had an unfortunate situation that led to DQ day 1 and the young man came back and posted a -1 71 day 2 to help his team out. I'm proud of him for fighting through after a tough year and championship.

Now we get back to work
