Wondering about some of the materials from our last reel? This one was Ms. Callie’s favorite, and here’s why:
“One of my favorite therapy games is Bed Bugs because it targets multiple developmental skills in a fun and engaging way!
Using the tongs helps strengthen hand muscles and promotes the development of an efficient grasp, which supports skills needed for handwriting. Children also practice visual-motor integration by visually tracking the bugs and accurately coordinating their hand movements to pick them up. In addition, the game provides opportunities to build frustration tolerance, whether they're working through the challenge of grabbing a bug or learning to navigate the emotions that come with winning and losing.
The best part? Kids simply think they're playing a game! Incorporating play into therapy keeps children motivated while helping them develop important skills they'll use in everyday life.”
Ready to work on these skills at home and get a little silly? Here’s where to buy it!
