This month, we pause to remember the babies who were gone too soon and to honor the families who continue to carry their love with them. We know that loss doesn’t have a timeline, and we recognize that every journey is different.

To every mother, father, family member, and loved one who has experienced a loss—we see you, we remember with you, and we’re here for you. Your baby mattered, your love matters, and your story matters. 🩷

With love and compassion,
Baton Rouge OBGYN

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about a cancer that can be difficult to detect because its symptoms can be subtle or easily mistaken for other conditions.

Know your body. Know the signs. Listen to your symptoms.

Pay attention to changes such as:
• Persistent bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Feeling full quickly
• Changes in urination
• Unexplained fatigue

One symptom alone doesn’t necessarily mean ovarian cancer, but persistent or unusual changes are worth discussing with your healthcare provider.

At Baton Rouge OBGYN, we’re here to listen, answer your questions, and help you take an active role in your health.

Your health is our priority.

💗 Celebrating Dr. Kathy Guidry

After an incredible career dedicated to caring for women in our community, Dr. Kathy Guidry is beginning a new chapter — retirement!

For so many years, Dr. Guidry has been an integral part of Baton Rouge OBGYN and Woman’s Hospital, caring for generations of women with compassion, dedication, and genuine warmth. Her leadership at Woman’s Hospital, including serving as Chief of Obstetrics and Chief of Staff, is just one part of the lasting impact she has made on our community.

Her commitment to caring for women extended well beyond the walls of the hospital and office. Dr. Guidry also volunteered her time providing exams for the R**e Crisis Center, offering compassionate care and support to women during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

But for those of us who have had the privilege of working alongside her, it’s not just her accomplishments that stand out — it’s who she is. Dr. Guidry brings warmth, kindness, dedication, and genuine care to everything she does. She has touched the lives of countless women and families and has made an incredible impact on our practice and our community.

Dr. Guidry’s last day seeing patients will be December 30, 2026.

Our office will be reaching out to patients who have appointments scheduled after Dr. Guidry’s retirement to assist with rescheduling. Patients are also welcome to call our office to reschedule their appointments.

As she looks forward to retirement, she’s excited for more time to travel, hike, ski, read, quilt, spend time with her grandkids in Colorado, and enjoy her new rescue pup, Goldie!

While we will miss her dearly, her partners are honored to carry on the legacy she has built and are committed to upholding the exceptional, compassionate care her patients have come to know and trust.

Dr. Guidry, thank you for an extraordinary career and for the countless lives you’ve touched. We are so grateful for you and couldn’t be happier to see you begin this well-deserved next chapter!

Here’s to retirement, new adventures, time with family, and plenty of Goldie snuggles! 🥂🐾💗

💗 Your Pelvic Floor Matters
Did you know your pelvic floor plays an important role in bladder control, bowel function, sexual health, core stability, and supporting your pelvic organs?

And when something isn’t working the way it should, you don’t have to simply “live with it.”

Maybe you’re leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise.
Maybe you feel pressure or heaviness.
Maybe you’re experiencing pelvic pain or discomfort during intimacy.
Maybe you’re recovering after childbirth or surgery.
Or maybe you just don’t feel like your body is functioning the way it used to.

💗 These concerns are common—but they are not something you have to ignore.

Pelvic floor therapy focuses on identifying what your body needs and helping you improve strength, coordination, mobility, and function through personalized care.

And no, it’s not just Kegels.

If you’ve been quietly dealing with symptoms and wondering if they’re “normal,” let’s talk about it.

Your pelvic floor matters.
Your comfort matters.
You matter.

📞 Call Baton Rouge OBGYN to learn more about our pelvic floor therapy services and find out if it may be right for you.
