A healthy morning skin care routine consists of gently cleansing, treating concerns, and protecting your skin from environmental damage. Apply products from the thinnest to the thickest consistency so each layer can properly absorb.
1. Cleanse - Wash away sweat and residue from your overnight products. If you have dry or sensitive skin, you can simply splash your face with lukewarm water. Oily or acne-prone skin types should use a mild facial cleanser.
2. Serum / Treatment - This is the step to address specific skin concerns. A Vitamin C serum is highly recommended in the morning as it brightens the skin and provides antioxidant protection against free radicals and UV damage.
3. Eye Cream - Gently pat a pea-sized amount of eye cream under your eyes and along the orbital bone using your ring finger to avoid pulling the delicate skin.
4. Moisturize - Lock in hydration and strengthen your skin barrier with a lightweight moisturizer. If you have oily skin, you can use an oil-free lotion; if you have dry skin, opt for a richer cream.
5. Sunscreen - The Most Important Step! Never skip SPF! Apply a generous, broad-spectrum sunscreen (at least SPF 30) to your face, neck, and chest. It prevents premature aging, sunburns, and hyperpigmentation.
