🚩 Baby Movement Milestones: When to Consider a PT Evaluation 🚩
Every baby develops at their own pace, but some signs may indicate your child could benefit from a pediatric physical therapy assessment.
✅ Check any that apply:
⬜ Prefers looking to one side most of the time
⬜ Difficulty turning head equally both directions
⬜ Flat spot developing on the head
⬜ Feels unusually stiff or unusually floppy
⬜ Keeps hands fi**ed most of the time after 3 months
⬜ Strong preference for using one side of the body (if younger than 12 months)
⬜ Difficulty lifting head during tummy time by 3 months
⬜ Not rolling by 6 months
⬜ Not sitting independently by 8 months
⬜ Not crawling, scooting, or finding a way to move by 10 months
⬜ Not pulling to stand by 12 months
⬜ Not taking independent steps by 18 months
⬜ Frequent falls or difficulty keeping up with peers
💡 If you checked even one or two boxes, it doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong. Early intervention simply helps identify challenges early and gives families tools to support development.
The earlier concerns are addressed, the easier it often is to help our little friends build strength, coordination and confidence.
