Louisiana Emergency Response Network LERN assists hospitals and emergency response teams by coordinating delivery of patients to the most

The Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN) is an agency of state government created by the Louisiana Legislature in 2004 charged with the responsibility of developing and maintaining a statewide system of care coordination for patients suddenly stricken by serious traumatic injury or time-sensitive illness (such as heart attack and stroke). It is a system also designated to serve as a vital h

ealthcare resource in the face of larger scale emergencies and natural disasters. Getting to the right place at the right time to receive the right care is a matter of life or death for these patients.

💡 🧠 LERN's Sarah Templet and Yvette Legendre recently facilitated a Stroke Recognition and Response class at Lane Regional Medical Center, helping healthcare professionals strengthen their ability to identify and respond to stroke emergencies. 🧠 💡

Participants also had the opportunity to learn from Aly Adams with Penumbra, Inc., who demonstrated a flow model showing how a thrombectomy is performed for eligible stroke patients. This hands-on demonstration provided valuable insight into the life-saving interventions available for stroke care.

Thank you to Lane Regional Medical Center, Aly Adams, and all who attended for supporting ongoing education and excellence in stroke care.👏👏👏
