Since 1998, one thing has stayed the same here at St. Christopher's: the belief that men deserve more than a 30-day “fix” and a handshake goodbye.

Our program was built by guys who got sober here. Who understands firsthand what it takes to stay that way. And who believes that if you surround a man with the right people, the right clinical team, and the right environment, recovery isn't just possible. It becomes the most natural thing in the world.

If you or someone you love is ready to find out what recovery can look like, we're here.

We loved hosting Zach Vachris (Impact Recovery Center) and Darryl Rodgers (The Family Recovery Coach) for a quick but memorable visit to Baton Rouge! During their time here, they toured all that St. Christopher's Men's Wellness has to offer, met our incredible staff, and even enjoyed a little cake before heading back home to continue the amazing work they do in Alabama and North Carolina.

Summer may bring the heat, but our staff is always ready to bring the fun while supporting recovery, mental health and overall wellness. Thank you, Zach and Darryl, for spending time with us—we look forward to working with you guys and having you again soon!

Brandy Klingman was honored to spend time in Washington, D.C., supporting the 6th Anniversary of National Naloxone Awareness Day. This important legislation, passed on June 6, recognizes the critical role naloxone plays in saving lives from overdose and supporting the fight against opioid use disorder.

During her visit, she enjoyed attending a dinner that brought together sheriffs, DEA representatives, first responders from across the country, and congressional leaders. The discussion focused on the policies, partnerships, and resources needed to continue making progress in addressing the opioid crisis and expanding access to treatment and recovery services.

We are hopeful after the opportunity to meet with Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Director Sara Carter. We appreciate her support and look forward to continuing the conversation with a small group of treatment center leaders. We are especially excited about the opportunity to host a future site visit at our women’s-only campus, MB, to showcase the life-changing work being done every day to help women find hope, healing, and long-term recovery.

Real progress happens when treatment providers, first responders, policymakers, and community leaders work together. We remain committed to being part of that effort and grateful for the many partners who share this mission.

Movement is medicine. But like any intervention, it works best when clinicians understand how and when to use it.

Join us at Longleaf Recovery Baldwin on May 15 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for our next CE training: Exercise and Mental Health: When It Helps, When It Hurts, and What Clinicians Should Know.

Led by Travis Weisbrod, MS, EP-C, CSCS, Wellness Director at St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness Center , this 3 NBCC-approved hour session explores the neurobiological, psychological, and behavioral effects of physical activity as an intervention for depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, and when exercise can become a maladaptive behavior in certain populations.

Whether you're a therapist, counselor, or behavioral health professional, this training gives you practical, evidence-based tools to integrate into your clinical work.
