🌟Alumni Spotlight on Tina Davis, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC 🌟
Dr. Tina Davis is a graduate of our FranU MSN-FNP Program, Class of 2022. She has gone on to achieve her Doctor of Nursing Practice and currently works in the ER for Franciscan Emergency Physicians. Not to mention, Dr. Davis is “paying it back” by serving as Adjunct Faculty in both the BSN and MSN-FNP programs here at FranU! Congratulations on your accomplishments, Dr. Davis, and Happy National DNP Week!!!

One of our FNP Program Learning Outcomes is: “Integrate ethical principles and advocacy strategies to influence health and health care in diverse, equitable, and/or inclusive environments.” The Bioethics Lecture series at FranU gave some of our senior students the opportunity to learn more about the Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives and end-of-life care. They will carry these lessons forward as competent and compassionate healthcare providers.

🌟Spotlight on our FranU FNP Program mission and two of our recent graduates, who are fulfilling that mission in BIG ways!
Our program mission states, in part, that we aim “to advance the knowledge of highly-skilled nurses in preparation for advanced practice as Franciscan servant leaders in a variety of settings, with a focus on rural and medically-underserved settings.” Well, Shana Turnage and Trey Parker, both FNP Class of 2025, are making good on that mission! Many FNP students may feel that pediatrics is an intimidating area of practice. Here at FranU, we believe in easing that anxiety with hands-on training and population exposure before practice. Whether it’s working with standardized patients in the Simulated Environment Teaching Hospital or providing service learning at an area elementary school, we’re doing it, and it is FUN for all!
