Frank Buchman founded the Oxford Group, a Christian movement that provided the spiritual foundation, practices, and principles for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Bill Wilson, AA's co-founder, adapted Buchman's "Four Absolutes" (Honesty, Purity, Unselfishness, and Love), which shaped the framework of AA (12 Steps) The Oxford Group, which began as the First Century Christian Fellowship in 1921, became popularly known as the Oxford Group by 1928. In 1938, it was transformed into Moral Re-Armament (MRA), which later became Initiatives of Change in 2001
