Join us on Friday for our weekly Lunch & Learn: Final Friday Talk Fest.

This week you can order a lunch, bring a lunch, or bring a snack to share and visit! Conversation starters will be available. This is a space to spend time with people you know and meet new friends.

Registration is required by today at 3:00 pm. Lunches are now ordered from Uproot Eatery, a community co-op that uses locally sourced food. Lunches come with assorted chips and fruit. The cost for lunch is now $7, due on arrival.

A Matter of Balance is coming to the Forks Senior Center in September. This free, evidence-based program is designed for people 60 years and older. Participants will learn practical strategies for managing falls, exercises to practice for balance and strength, changes to make to prevent falls in the home, and ways to increase your level of activity.

The next session of A Matter of Balance will be held on Mondays, September 14 to 29 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

Join us for Powerful Tools for Caregivers in September! This is a six-week workshop series that shows caregivers how they can take better care of themselves while still caring for a loved one.

The series will take place on Wednesdays from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm, from September 16 to October 21. The class will meet at Thornapple Credit Union in Middleville.

Beginning in August, MDHHS will start mailing upgraded cards for food and cash assistance that include chip and tap-to-pay functionality for all cardholders.

Beware of scams during this time! Never share your personal birthdates, banking or card numbers with callers, or via texts or email. The State of Michigan requests that you update your contact information and addresses only through its MiBridges system. They will not phone, text, or email you for information changes.

Do you have all of the legal documents you need to care for your care recipient? If you are unsure, our online caregiver portal has a toolkit titled, Documents and Decision Making.

You can explore this toolkit if you have questions about power of attorney and living will, or want to know how you can support your care recipient to make their own decisions.
