Playing in March means all your training since August is paying off. It means your team is so close to the goal of a championship. It means your body has survived all the bumps and bruises throughout the season.

This time of year holds a sense of bittersweet for me personally. I missed the last two March's of my career with injuries, leaving a feeling of unfinished business. BUT it also created a passion to help all athletes see their seasons through from start to finish.

MOTION IS LOTION. It's a common phrase in the physical therapy world, but what does that actually mean?

Just like the nuts, bolts, gears, and fittings on this old truck, your joints get stiff when they aren't moved and used often. Think of getting out of the car after a long road trip.

Movement refreshes the fluid in each joint, which acts like grease or WD-40. It keeps everything moving smoother, easier, with less pain, and with more range. Another reason to knock the rust off and get moving!

Don't settle for anything less than the best". That phrase is applied to many areas of our lives.

But consider that phrase with how your body feels. Do you take the elevator instead of the stairs because of pain? Do you reduce the size of your garden? Do you stop playing the sport you enjoy? Do you hope your kid or grandkid won't ask to be picked up?

Don't settle for adapting your life around what you can't do! Address the problem and pursue the best version of you! It's achievable.
