A productive day can leave the nervous system active long after the work is done. Rather than forcing sleep, the body often needs a signal that it’s safe to transition into rest.
To transition a “tired but wired” mind, our Advisor of Ayurveda .one recommends Padabhyanga, the practice of intentional foot massage, as a simple yet powerful way to support deeper sleep. According to Ayurveda, the feet contain important energetic and nervous system pathways. Massaging them before bed can help ease mental chatter, calm excess stimulation and encourage a more restorative state.
Try this evening ritual:
• Warm a small amount of oil between your palms. (We love Stillness Body Oil from .)
• Apply slow, firm strokes from the heel toward the toes.
• Spend 60 seconds applying gentle pressure to the center of the arch.
• Slip on a pair of clean “oiling-designated” socks and allow the body to settle naturally into rest.
Sometimes the most effective sleep support begins not with doing more, but with creating the conditions to let go.
