Hi everyone ! We're doing something a bit different this month for our free community yoga with Karin Schaftlein .

We are having a SECOND yoga class this June 20, 2026 at The Pamlico Public Library, in honor of Summer Solstice as a pop up class opportunity starting at 10:00 AM.

Please visit The Pamlico Public Library page ,fb events, or call the library directly with any questions concerning the library hosted yoga classes.

We will resume our regular alternate yoga class sites between Hope Clinic and The Pamlico Library in July.

You can continue to follow and look to this page for share yoga class schedules and sign up links periodically !

You could find Hope Clinic partners , staff, and volunteers, in different corners of the community today. Offering a variety of free support and programs , and resources such as joining the Blueberry Festival in Bridgeton , NC OR free community yoga with Karin at the Pamlico Public library.

We want to take a minute to acknowledge the consistent efforts and collaborations that make these continued connections possible to Hope Clinic Patients and The Pamlico County Community.

Tonight's Awareness Share of Drug Supply Progression in NC :

Have you heard of metatobadine? Sister to xylazine, this drug that is a veterinarian used medication, has saturated he**in, fentanyl , and other op**te and even nonop**te drug supply found circulating through our own back yards of North Carolina.

Scientists and studies have shown withdrawal can be FATAL when someone abruptly discontinues use without medical guidance and intervention causing deadly heart attacks as a result.

Using the drugs can obviously lead to fatalities.

Asking or expecting someone to discontinue use without medical guidance or intervention could lead to fatalities too.

If you or someone you know are suffering from substance use disorder -please do not suffer in silence - seek help or suggest help through your local hospital , mobile crisis , or got to Findtreatment.gov to safely transition to recovery that is right for you. 💜

-BECOME AWARE , BE PREPARED -
This Is An Opioid Overdose Awareness Share.

Below are examples of scenarios that can and do lead to an accidental or unexpected opioid overdose.

*Someone with addiction received drugs that were laced with fentanyl, xylazine , or nitazene without their knowledge resulting in direct harm or death by overdose

* Someone in physical or mental anguish "just wanted the pain to stop"

*Someone WITHOUT an addiction accidentally over took their pain medication twice that day (this may happen with elderly persons or persons with dementia, other causes of memory loss, and sometimes regardless anyone can forget they already took their medication or accidentally take them incorrectly)

* A CHILD found and consumed illicit drugs at a park, in public, or even in their own home

* A TEEN , just wanted to experiment

*A CHILD got into a grandparent or parents medicine cabinet with legal prescriptions of opioids for pain and consumed them

*A CAREGIVER OR FAMILY MEMBER ACCIDENTALLY provided the wrong prescribed medication OR wrong dose of the persons prescribed medication

* Foul play - someone intentionally put opioids in someone's food , drink , or other substances that are NOT drugs with intention to harm or kill them

These are just a FEW possible scenarios leading to opioid overdose , and/ or opioid overdose deaths - In this epidemic ,no one is of the exception. Many become victims of opioid overdose , opioid poisoning , toxicity , or death.

You do not have to knowingly use or misuse a illicit or even prescribed op**te /opioid to become a victim of opioid overdose, fentanyl toxicity, or any opioid poisoning -

Every Life Matters Regardless.
This is to spread awareness of the widespread, broadened , impact the opioid epidemic has or can have on ANYONE, regardless of having history of substance use or never using at all.

Because you never know who,what , when or where, an opioid overdose may happen...

The Craven County Opioid Epidemic Response team is offering a
VIRTUAL FREE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY to learn how to identify signs of opioid overdose , and how to use op**te overdose reversal medication Narcan (also known as naloxone)

This is a great opportunity for people working in or around the substance use disorder or opioid response community, outreach profession, persons with lived experience, or concerned community member or family member wanting to be ready for anything.

A big thanks to the Craven County Opioid Epidemic Response team often providing free ,local, and virtual education, awareness , and training in harm reduction and overdose reversals to the community and its providers.
