Why Did I Become an Acupuncturist?
The answer might surprise you...
Most acupuncturists find their way into the profession through martial arts, or they were massage therapists, or after having a great experience with acupuncture themselves.
That wasn’t my story.
I was born with a rare liver disease.
From the day I was born until I was 16 years old, I was chronically ill.
As a baby, I underwent multiple surgeries just to stay alive.
Hospitals became a second home.
Some hospital stays lasted a month or longer.
There were times when my family genuinely didn’t know if I was going to make it.
By my late teens, my health had reached its lowest point.
I was jaundiced.
I had fluid building up in my abdomen.
I was painfully thin.
Completely exhausted.
My body was running out of time.
Then everything changed.
In 1990, I received a liver transplant.
A 12-hour surgery.
Three months of recovery.
A second chance at life.
For the very first time...
I knew what it felt like to be healthy.
It was like going from living in a black-and-white world.....to suddenly seeing everything in full color.
That experience changed me forever.
When you’ve lived on both sides of illness...
You never take health for granted.
It also taught me something I’ll never forget:
The human body has an incredible capacity to heal.
That’s why I became an acupuncturist.
Not just to treat symptoms...
But to help people reclaim their health, their energy, and their lives.
If you’re struggling with your health today, don’t lose hope.
I’ve experienced firsthand how life can change.
