The Bridge: Conversations Across Generations returns this Sunday at 5pm CST on IG live with Episode 2: Carrying the Legacy.
What does it mean to carry forward a legacy that changed the profession?
Join us as we welcome Leon R. Anderson III, PT, MOMT, entrepreneur, private practice owner, and Charter Member of the American Academy of Physical Therapy (AAPT). Leon’s commitment to AAPT is deeply personal. His father was a founding member of AAPT, a pioneer in physical therapy, and the first Black man elected to the APTA Board of directors. Now, Leon continues that legacy through leadership, mentorship, and service.
As we celebrate AAPT, the first national physical therapy organization founded to address disparities and advance minority physical therapists in 1989, we’ll explore why its mission still matters today and what it will take to continue to carry that legacy into the future.
With Black men still significantly underrepresented in physical therapy, this conversation is also an opportunity to inspire the next generation of leaders while honoring those who paved the way.
Whether you’re a student, clinician, educator, or longtime AAPT member, this conversation is for you.
Come ready with your questions. We want this to be a conversation, and we’ll be taking questions live throughout the episode.
