Can you pass the 30-second balance test? 👣
Balance is something many of us take for granted until it starts to change.
Here's a simple way to check your balance:
✅ Stand on one leg for up to 30 seconds.
⚠️ Safety first: Perform this test next to a sturdy chair or countertop so you have something to hold if needed.
If you can't safely maintain your balance for 30 seconds, it may be a sign that your balance, strength, or mobility could use some attention.
The good news? Balance can often be improved with the right exercises and guidance.
At Sports & Spine Physical Therapy, we help people improve balance, reduce their risk of falls, build confidence, and stay active doing the things they love.
Have you tried the test? Tell us how you did in the comments!

Just 20–30 minutes a day can make a BIG difference.
You don't have to spend hours in the gym to improve your health. A daily walk can help:
✅ Reduce joint pain and stiffness
✅ Improve balance and coordination
✅ Strengthen your heart
✅ Boost your mood and reduce stress
✅ Increase your energy
✅ Help you maintain a healthy weight
The best exercise is the one you'll actually do—and walking is one of the easiest ways to keep your body moving.
If pain, balance problems, or an old injury are keeping you from enjoying your daily walk, we're here to help.
At Sports & Spine Physical Therapy, our goal is to help you move with confidence so you can keep doing the things you love.

The Bridge: Conversations Across Generations returns this Sunday at 5pm CST on IG live with Episode 2: Carrying the Legacy.

What does it mean to carry forward a legacy that changed the profession?

Join us as we welcome Leon R. Anderson III, PT, MOMT, entrepreneur, private practice owner, and Charter Member of the American Academy of Physical Therapy (AAPT). Leon’s commitment to AAPT is deeply personal. His father was a founding member of AAPT, a pioneer in physical therapy, and the first Black man elected to the APTA Board of directors. Now, Leon continues that legacy through leadership, mentorship, and service.

As we celebrate AAPT, the first national physical therapy organization founded to address disparities and advance minority physical therapists in 1989, we’ll explore why its mission still matters today and what it will take to continue to carry that legacy into the future.

With Black men still significantly underrepresented in physical therapy, this conversation is also an opportunity to inspire the next generation of leaders while honoring those who paved the way.

Whether you’re a student, clinician, educator, or longtime AAPT member, this conversation is for you.

Come ready with your questions. We want this to be a conversation, and we’ll be taking questions live throughout the episode.

📅 Sunday 5pm CST
📍American Academy of PT IG Live
🎙️ The Bridge: Conversations Across Generations
Hosts: Membership chair and Co-chair Dr. Timia Crawford, PT, DPT and Dr. Kanosha Grady, PT, DPT, LAT, ATC

🚨 Don't wait until the pain becomes a big problem.
Many aches and pains start small but waiting too long can make them harder to treat and keep you from doing the things you love.
Early physical therapy can:
✔ Help reduce pain sooner
✔ Improve strength and mobility
✔ Prevent small problems from becoming bigger ones
✔ In some cases, help people avoid surgery
The sooner you start, the sooner you can get back to living your life.
💚 At Sports & Spine Physical Therapy, we can often schedule new patients within 48 hours. There is no need to wait weeks to begin your recovery.
