Numbers can tell us a lot—but when we're talking about sexual assault, every number represents a real person.
📍 In 2025, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime in Texas Report shows that there were 18,000 reported cases of sexual assault in a state of 32 million.
Those numbers make it seem like the problem is really being solved, but studies from the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault suggest that up to 90% of survivors do not report to law enforcement
📍 An estimated 6.3 million Texans have experienced some form of sexual abuse in their life time
📍2 out of every 5 women and 1 out of every 5 men in Texas have been assaulted
Those aren't just percentages, charts, or statistics. Behind every number is a person whose life may have been changed by an experience they never should have had to endure.
And here's another number worth knowing: 24/7.
That's how often support is available to survivors through our crisis hotline.
Sexual assault can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, relationship status, background, or circumstances. And if someone experiences sexual assault, it is never their fault.
If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, you don't have to figure out what to do next by yourself. Our trained advocates can provide confidential support, crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, and help navigating next steps.
