Sometimes people ask why I named my practice Olive Press Restorative Massage. I wanted to take a moment to share the heart behind it.
In Scripture, the olive press is where olives are crushed under pressure to release oil. It represents refinement and purpose. Each pressing produced something meaningful. Oil for light, for cleansing, and for anointing.
Jesus was also pressed and crushed. He is the Light of the world, His blood cleanses us, and He is the Anointed One.
As we go through life, we carry stress from our daily responsibilities, emotions, work, and relationships. Over time, that stress settles into the body. Sometimes it’s easy to notice, and other times it’s held much deeper.
Our muscles have layers, from the surface to the deeper structures. The work I do follows those layers. Some areas only allow for light pressure, others for firm or deeper work.
Each muscle has its own threshold. If it’s not ready, going too deep too quickly can cause more harm than good. So I work with what your body allows, building gradually. Healing in the body is a process.
And even beyond the physical layers, there are deeper places we can’t reach with our hands. That’s where I trust Yahweh is at work, moving in ways that go beyond muscle and tissue.
Whether it’s through the worship music playing, a peaceful space to rest, a listening ear, or simply a moment to release tension, this is more than a service.
It’s a place where you can slow down, be cared for, and where God can meet you in the pressing and gently lead you toward restoration, from the inside out.
