Peace, love & BINGO! ✌️✨

Our first-ever Party with a Purpose: Studio 409 Bingo was one groovy night! From the fabulous ’70s looks and plenty of laughs to BINGO wins and door prizes, we had the BEST time getting down for a great cause!

A huge thank you to Christina Rivas, Deborah Smith and Angela Knowles for bringing this event to life, to all of our incredible sponsors who helped make the night possible, and to everyone who came out ready to boogie and BINGO! đź’›

And, of course, congratulations to all of our BINGO and door prize winners!

We couldn't have asked for a better first Party with a Purpose. Until next time… stay groovy, Southeast Texas! 🪩✌️

Weeks 5 and 6 of our NIP are always stressful for interns as they prepare for their upcoming Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course.

In week 5 interns spend 4 intense days of Basic Dysrhythmia Recognition (aka Basic EKG). This group of interns ended the week confident and prepared to monitor telemetry patients and intervene appropriately when dysrhythmias arise.

Numerous interns excelled in week 5, however two interns stood out.

Please join Baptist Hospitals of Southeast
Texas and the Summer 2026 Nurse Intern Program in congratulating Ashlyn Johnson, RN, Labor and Delivery and Billy Young, RN, Intensive Care Unit for both earning the week 5 “Most Outstanding Interns of the Week”!

Take a moment to review the interns' “All Star” trading card and find out more about each intern.

Congratulations to our latest Baptist Way Winner, Jamie Farren!đź’™

"Anyone who visits 2N on a shift when Jamie is working knows that he’s simply a ray of sunshine. He makes the experience of being in the hospital better for any patient or family member who meets him. Jamie is always telling jokes and making others laugh, even when they don’t even want to smile. He truly goes out of his way to make others’ day and his kindness goes such a long way.

He is servant-hearted, the first person to jump into action when a patient needs help, is calm in times of crisis, and leads by setting a great example in our unit. Jamie always has a smile on his face and does the little things that make a big difference.

During a recent conversation, I asked Jamie what he enjoyed so much about his job, why he loved being a nurse here, and how he’s always so happy despite the tough job of being a nurse and having to handle difficult situations. Jamie simply said that he loves to help people, and that if he can make somebody’s day better at work or while admitted to the hospital, he’s willing to go further to make that happen. "I love being a nurse at Baptist because here, I can pray with people, and that makes a difference.”

Is bariatric surgery the “easy way out”? 🤔

It’s a question—and misconception—we hear often.

We asked Dr. Ordonez to weigh in on what bariatric surgery really involves and why choosing surgery doesn’t mean choosing the easy path. It’s a powerful tool that, along with commitment and lifestyle changes, can help patients take meaningful steps toward better health.

Talk about pint-sized perfection! 🍦🥹💙

Our NICU babies are giving a whole new meaning to a little scoop of happiness! These sweet little faces have completely melted our hearts — no ice cream required. We may be biased, but we think these are the cutest Blue Bell babies we’ve ever seen! 💙🍦

Keeping our hospital safe AND giving our famous breakfast bowls the seal of approval? We’d call that a win! 🍳👏

A big THANK YOU to the Beaumont Police Department officers who help protect our hospital community every day. We appreciate all that you do—and we’ll make sure the breakfast bowls keep coming! 💙

Join us for our monthly Cancer Support Group as we come together for encouragement, education, and connection.

This month’s focus is Resources for Those Impacted by Cancer, featuring Kayla West with Blood Cancer United. Learn about valuable resources and support services available to individuals currently navigating cancer, as well as survivors and their loved ones. Kayla will share information designed to help you feel informed, supported, and connected throughout every stage of the cancer journey.

This group offers a welcoming space for patients, survivors, and caregivers to share experiences, gain valuable resources, and find support from others who understand the cancer journey.
