Home Health and Hospice both provide compassionate care at home—but they serve different purposes.
Many people use the terms interchangeably, but understanding the difference can help you or your loved one receive the right care at the right time.
🏡 Home Health Care is designed for individuals recovering from an illness, injury, surgery, or managing a chronic medical condition. The goal is to help patients heal, regain strength, improve independence, and reduce the risk of hospital readmissions.
Home health services may include:
✅ Skilled nursing care
✅ Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
✅ Medication management
✅ Wound care
✅ Disease education and chronic disease management
Patients receiving home health continue working toward recovery while remaining under the care of their physician.
🤝 Hospice Care, on the other hand, is for individuals with a life-limiting illness whose goals of care have shifted from curative treatment to comfort, symptom management, and quality of life.
At Pulse Homecare, we proudly provide skilled Home Health services. While we do not provide hospice care, we’re committed to helping patients recover safely, manage chronic conditions, and remain independent in the comfort of their own homes. If hospice ever becomes the most appropriate level of care, we encourage families to discuss options with their physician.
If you or a loved one has recently been hospitalized, had surgery, or needs skilled nursing or therapy services at home, we’re here to help.
