Gwendolyn Jones, 91, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love and devotion of her family. Born on February 18, 1935, to the late Walter and Gladyce Brenson Sr., Gwendolyn lived a life defined by grace, kindness, and unwavering faith.

A woman of extraordinary gentleness, Gwendolyn’s spirit touched everyone she encountered. She never spoke a negative word; instead, she uplifted, encouraged, and inspired. Her radiant smile could brighten any room, and her warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her. To know Gwendolyn was truly to love her.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. As one of the original Gospel Descendants, she devoted countless years to serving her church family. She faithfully led as Superintendent of the Sunday School Department, nurturing generations in their Christian walk. She also served joyfully on the Kitchen Committee, using her gifts of hospitality to bring people together in fellowship. Her dedication reflected her deep love for the Lord and His people. She continued
her spiritual growth through Harty Bible School, strengthening the faith she lived out so beautifully.

A proud graduate of Beaver Falls High School, Gwendolyn dedicated 35 years of service to Westinghouse and Eaton before retiring in March 1997. Her life was filled with purpose, faith, and love—qualities she shared generously with everyone around her.

Gwendolyn’s greatest joy came from her family. As the cornerstone of her home, she created a sanctuary filled with love, comfort, and the unforgettable aromas of meals prepared from her kitchen. Her talents in baking and sewing were expressions of her care, and her famous pound cake became a cherished favorite among all who tasted it. She found happiness in serving others, pouring her heart into every act of kindness.

Her legacy is one of unconditional love, steadfast faith, compassion, and selflessness. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, valued, and cherished. Her wisdom, gentle guidance, and nurturing spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roosevelt Jones Jr.; her son, Rodney Jones; greatgrandson, Devlin Curtis Eugene Moreland; special granddaughter, Teresa Lockett; brother, Walter Brenson Jr.; sisters, Joycelynn (William) Walker and Jacquelyn (Jackie B.) Wynn; brothersinlaw, Harold Petty, John H., Arnold and Walter Jones; sistersinlaw, Daisy Jones Macon, Lucretia
Jones Stephenson and Janet Greene Jones; soninlaw, Charles L. Tisdale; nephew, Jerome Goosby; godson, Frederick (Freddie) Curry; and goddaughter, Brandy Alford.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Faith Tisdale, Teresa Jones, and Roosevelt “Dinky” (Jennie) Jones; her grandchildren: Quincy (Garlette) Tisdale, Jerald (David Berndt) Tisdale, Rodtika Jones, Nathan (Teonda Harvey) Jones, Kenny B. Cottman II, Devin Taylor, Jerit Thomas, Ginger Sanders, Deseree Yeager, Jamera Jones, Brittney Carter, and Brandon (Izea) Jones; 20
greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren; her sister, Carolyn Petty; devoted bestie, Janice (Clifford) Alford; devoted sisterinlaw, Etta “Sweet” Simmons; and special friends, Carla and Paul Alwin. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and cherished friends.

Gwendolyn will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Roosevelt, at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4 PM to 8 PM, and again on Saturday, June 27, beginning at 10 AM. The service will begin at 10:30 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 3rd Ave., Beaver Falls, PA.

Midland - With a heavy heart and unwavering faith in God’s promises, we celebrate the life and legacy of James E. “Jimmy” Sallie, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 4, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on July 25, 1935, in Beaver Falls, PA. Jimmy was a man of deep faith baptized in 1984, strong character, and unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Throughout his life he exemplified the values of integrity, compassion, humility, and service.

Jimmy was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School in 1953. His extensive career included supervisory positions at J & L Steel Corporation, LTV Steel, and The Pennsylvania Midland Railroad Company.

A faithful Christian, Jimmy was a long-time member of First Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. He worshipped faithfully and shared his wisdom, kindness, and encouragement with all who crossed his path.

Jimmy loved his family. He worked diligently to provide for his loved ones and took great pride in being a source of guidance, support and unconditional love. Whether offering advice, sharing a laugh or simply spending time with those he cherished, he made every moment meaningful. He was an unsung hero and a mentor to many, especially to his friends at Coen gas station, where he worked part-time after retirement.

Those who knew Jimmy will remember his warm smile, gentle spirit, steadfast faith and strong work ethic. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the values he instilled in future generations.

Jimmy was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years Mary E. Sallie, his mother and father James C. and Ella L. Sallie, his brother Robert S. Sallie I, his sister Mary L. Tillman, and his nephew Robert S. Sallie II.

Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory his best friend and beloved son, Michael Sallie (Melinda), his grandchildren Arsenio Sallie (Kaila), Shawnae Sallie, Mikayla Sallie, Landon Sallie, and Laila Sallie; his 6 great grandchildren; his nephews and his nieces/daughters Kathy Petties-Springs, Robin Sallie, Meloney Sallie-Dosunmu, Nikki Tillman-Billups and a host of other family and friends.

Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he has heard the words “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His life was a testament to faith, family, and love. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.

A viewing will be held Friday June 12, 2026, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and Saturday June 13, 2026, from 10:00am – 11:00am with his celebration of life at 11:00am. All will be held at First Baptist Church Midland/Beaver at 370 Beaver Street Beaver, PA 15009.

Bertha May Hunter Washington, 89, daughter of Charles and Mary Hunter of Beaver Falls, PA, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio on September 18th, 2023. Bertha
was born on September 2, 1934, in Beaver Falls, PA.

She poured her love, life, and everything into caring for her family. Her light was bright enough to fill the darkest times with warmth and the feeling of home. Our Mother had no conditions or limits to her love. Mom, Mommy, Mum, Nana to some, Mrs. Washington to others, but a guardian Angel to all. As the matriarch to our family, our mother set the standard for what it means to be a Washington, a Mali, and a Hunter. Some of you may feel like she set that same standard in your homes too; Horton, Anderson, Helisek, and I’m sure many others come to mind. We were
taught that family is not limited to those you share a name with; that real family lies in the bonds you form with friends, neighbors, brothers, sisters, and cousins. We were taught how to
truly and selflessly care for and about others. Through her vision of Family, we define who we are and whom we belong to.

Our mother is no longer here. However, she is asking us to look beyond the snow caps, beyond the redwoods, beyond, the oceans, and beyond the stars. If you do, you will hear her call. yes,
her call. Her call will make you focus, make you persevere, make you joyful, make you love, and yes, make you have the audacity to reach her. I am certain she can hear your call. Why, because
she has raised us all and knows all our voices. Her call will be tender, her call will be sweet, it will be stern, and at times faint but it will be our mother’s call.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Charles M. Washington, Pete Mali, father: Charles Hunter, mother: Mary Hunter, sister: Jeanee Hunter, brother: Donald Hunter, nephew: Jackie
Lee Hunter (Head). Brother-in-laws: Skip, Chick, Deb, Daniel, Bob, and Clarence. Sister-in-laws:Mildred, Sue, Lillie, Margaret, and Maxine. Nieces and nephews: Lester, Lawrence, Gineen,
Miranda, Bernie Washington and Nephew Jackie Lee Hunter Jr.

Bertha is survived by her sons: Peter (Kathy) Mali, Charles (Melissa) Washington, Rocky (Sheree) Washington, Ivan (Lisa) Washington, and Georgie Mali. daughters: Linda Sherwood, Cheryl
(William) McClendon, Regina Washington, Drenda (Honey) (Darrell) Banks, Linda (Doll) Mali, Quantia Mali, and Gina Mali. Bertha has many grandchildren, great and great-great
grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews. Blessed was her life and Blessed is her legacy.

Our Family would like to express our gratitude and love for the overwhelming support we have received during this trying time. Every Prayer, every phone call, every visit, every word of
encouragement has reminded us of the immense love everyone held for our Mother. We are sincerely grateful.
