Infant reflux is common, but common doesn't mean it's something you just have to live with.
Many families are told that vomiting and reflux are just a normal part of infancy. From a visceral manipulation perspective, that's often not the full picture.
Reflux frequently involves the lower esophageal sphincter: the valve between the esophagus and the stomach. When that area isn't functioning well, stomach contents move back up, causing discomfort and vomiting. In some cases, the root of the problem is actually the pyloric sphincter, where the stomach connects to the small intestine. Dysfunction there can create a chain reaction that affects the whole digestive process.
Visceral manipulation works gently with these soft tissue structures to support better function and coordination in the digestive system. If your infant has been struggling with reflux and you feel like something has been missed, it might be worth exploring whether a mechanical component is involved.
