Your voice matters! 💚

The West Virginia Department of Human Services (WV DoHS), in partnership with the Bureau for Behavioral Health (BBH), and Acentra Health is asking individuals who receive mental health and/or substance use services to complete a brief satisfaction survey.

Your feedback helps us understand what is working, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure behavioral health services continue to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities across West Virginia.

Survey responses also support the Behavioral Health Block Grant requirements, which help maintain important SAMHSA funding that supports mental health and substance use services throughout our state.

By taking a few minutes to share your experience, you are helping shape the future of behavioral health care.

Thank you for your time and for helping us improve services and strengthen support across West Virginia! 💚

📍 LOCATION CONFIRMED 📍

Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the management of Golden Corral, Kroger (Beckley Crossing), and the owner of Padrino’s Italian Restaurant for allowing the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office “You Are Not Alone” Outreach to utilize their parking lots for this important community event.

The outreach will take place on Saturday, June 20, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will be located in the Kroger and Padrino’s Italian Restaurant parking lots at Beckley Crossing, as well as a portion of the Golden Corral parking lot on N. Eisenhower Drive.

The “You Are Not Alone” Outreach is dedicated to meeting people where they are and connecting individuals and families with resources related to substance use recovery, mental health services, homelessness assistance, and other community support services.

We are grateful for the continued support of our local businesses and community partners who help make this outreach possible. Together, we can make a difference—one person, one family, and one conversation at a time.

💜World Elder Abuse Awareness Day💜

Today, we join communities around the world in recognizing World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and standing against the abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of older adults.

Elder abuse is often hidden, making awareness and action critical. One way to help protect older generations is to remember the Three R's: Recognize, Respond, and Refer.

🔍Recognize the Warning Signs:
-Physical Abuse: Unexplained bruises, welts, or marks that may indicate restraint
-Neglect: Rapid weight loss, dehydration, poor hygiene, or untreated bedsores
-Financial Exploitation: Sudden changes to bank accounts, unauthorized legal documents, or missing funds
-Emotional Abuse: Severe anxiety, depression, fearfulness, or sudden social isolation

🤝Every older adult deserves dignity, respect, and safety. By recognizing the signs of abuse and speaking up when something seems wrong, we can help protect vulnerable individuals and strengthen the well being of families and communities across West Virginia.

Supporting accountability, transparency, and the welfare of West Virginians means ensuring that our seniors are treated with the care and respect they deserve. 💙💛

It's OK to ask for help.

It's OK to talk about how you're feeling.

It's OK to take care of your mental health.

Many men grow up hearing messages that encourage them to handle challenges on their own. But strength isn't about carrying everything by yourself.

Support, connection, and reaching out are signs of courage.

This Men's Mental Health Month, let's help create a culture where it's OK to talk.
