Winning durable majorities requires persuasion and coalition-building, not narrowing the tent until only the loudest voices remain. When politics becomes more about gatekeeping than governing, unintended consequences follow.

Tonight wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, but I said what I believed. We fought hard. I love this region, and I’m grateful.

Thank you to everyone who supported us, encouraged us, prayed for us, and voted for a different direction for southern West Virginia.

Congratulations to Senator Rollan Roberts on his victory tonight. I wish him wisdom, endurance, and discernment as he continues to influence the direction of our region.

I also appreciate Adam Vance for being gracious throughout this race.

Public service is bigger than holding office, and my commitment to this region does not end tonight. In fact, this showed me exactly the ways in which we still have much more work to do.

Today is Election Day.

Before politics, before campaigns, before all the noise, I was simply someone who wanted to serve this community.

That hasn’t changed.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, prayed for, volunteered for, and believed in this campaign.

If you haven’t voted yet, polls are open today.

I’d be honored to earn your vote for State Senate.

Tomorrow, the people of southern West Virginia will decide what kind of future we want for this region we call home.

For months now, you’ve been flooded with noise. Mailers. Attacks. Constant outrage and distractions designed to keep people divided while nothing ever really changes.

But beneath all of that, I believe something deeper has been acknowledged in this race.

People are ready to move forward again.

Not by abandoning our values, but by returning to what made this state strong in the first place: hard work, personal responsibility, strong families, thriving communities, and leaders who focus more on building than performing.

I entered this race because I care deeply about this place, the people here, and the future we’re leaving our children. And I could no longer ignore the feeling so many of us share — that our communities have been quietly accepted in decline for far too long.

I still see too much talent, too much resilience, and too much potential in southern West Virginia to accept decline as inevitable.

I believe we can grow again.
I believe we can attract jobs again.
I believe our schools can be stronger.
I believe our infrastructure can improve.
And I believe our kids deserve a reason to stay here and build a life.

This campaign was never about becoming a politician. It was about stepping forward as a husband, father, physician, coach, business owner, and lifelong West Virginian who believes this region is worth fighting for.

And maybe most importantly, I wanted to prove that leadership does not have to look like constant anger and division to be conservative.

We can be strong without being cruel.
We can defend our values without losing our decency.
And we can demand better for southern West Virginia without accepting the same politics that brought us to this point.

Tomorrow, you have a choice.

Not just between candidates, but between continuing down the same path, or choosing a new generation of leadership focused on the future instead of the theatrics.

If you believe southern West Virginia still has greatness ahead of it, then tomorrow I humbly ask for your vote.

Let’s move this region forward together.

I’m going to work today.

Not on the campaign trail, but in the clinic caring for people who trust me and need me.

Medicine is my calling and my profession. Unfortunately, there are some — even in high offices in this state — who have spent a great deal of money, energy, and time trying to misrepresent my beliefs because of it.

Listening to the needs of patients and families outside the exam room is what pushed me to do this in the first place: to help address the problems affecting entire communities instead of patching people up one by one.

Since my focus is there today, I’m leaving an article in the comments that explains this primary and the stakes involved better than I can. In these final hours before tomorrow’s vote, I hope you’ll take a moment to read it, do your research, and then get out and vote for change.

I’m running for you.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who hold families, communities, and generations together.

I’m incredibly blessed to still have my mother and grandmothers around to support me and offer insight and perspective, and to have a wife who keeps me grounded while raising our children with so much love and patience.

I also appreciate all the motherly figures in my life who have showered me with advice, prayers, encouragement, and hugs both recently and over the years.

Feeling very lucky tonight to have this family, and thankful for the women who helped shape the person I’ve become.

Part of building a life here is actually living a life here.

No noise today. No outrage. Just coaching my team, supporting my church, showing up for my town, and spending time with the people who make this community special.

I appreciated the encouragement that came from every angle today. More days like this are what we’re fighting for in southern West Virginia.

Less than one week out, and this race is tied.

While our opponents focus on political games and distractions, we’ve stayed focused on the issues that actually shape the future of southern West Virginia: jobs, economic growth, better roads, stronger schools, and giving our kids a reason to stay here.

Voters are hearing the difference.

This campaign has always been about responsibility, practical leadership, and moving our region forward, not endless outrage and division.

Now we finish strong.

Today is the last day to vote early, or you can vote on Election Day, Tuesday, May 12th.

I’d be honored to earn your vote for State Senate.

Over the last few weeks, the Raleigh County “good old boy” network has made one thing clear: they’re more interested in protecting the status quo and protecting Rollan Roberts than telling you what he’s actually done for this district.

Because they can’t point to results, they’ve resorted to false, gross, negative attacks against me.

Let me be clear:
I’m pro-life. I oppose pushing the transgender agenda on children. And I support school choice for West Virginia families.

Some people see every disagreement as a battle between good and evil. I don’t.

I can hold conservative values and still recognize that yelling about the same social issues every day doesn’t fix roads, create jobs, improve schools, or give our kids a future here.

My opponents want politics to be about outrage. I want it to be about responsibility.

And here’s why that matters:

Since 2014, 47 of West Virginia’s 55 counties have lost population. Raleigh County alone has lost nearly 7,000 people. During that same time, we’ve lost thousands of jobs.

That’s not a talking point. That’s a decade of decline.

This area should be a regional economic anchor for southern West Virginia. Instead, we’ve been left behind under the same leadership now asking for your vote again.

We can do better. We should expect better.

As your State Senator, I’ll stay focused on what actually matters: jobs, education, infrastructure, and building a future our kids choose to stay for.

It’s time to move forward.

The decade of decline stops now.
