It’s been a hot minute since we talked about the grown-ups around here. 😂

You wake up and can’t turn your head. You bend over to pick up something that weighs approximately nothing and suddenly can’t stand up straight.

At that point, you’d let someone do circus tricks on you on a kitchen table if it meant you could move again. 💀

And then comes the question I hear ALL the time:

“But what did I DO?”

The frustrating answer? I don’t have a crystal ball AND It’s usually not that simple. Let’s talk about it. 👉🏼

Taking a quick break from chiropractic content because this one felt worth sharing. ❤️

Today our oldest started his very first job, and we couldn’t be prouder.

He’ll be spending his weekends at Tuckers, learning what it means to show up, work hard, be part of a team, earn his own paycheck… and, of course, discover the heartbreak of taxes. 😅💸

We couldn’t ask for a better place for him to start this next chapter.

If you’re grabbing breakfast or lunch there, you just might see him back in the kitchen. Give him a wave… and maybe try to leave an extra clean plate for him. 😉

Go get ‘em, buddy. We love you and couldn’t be prouder.

A newborn can’t tell me what’s bothering them. That’s why I spend so much time listening to YOU.

Your observations, your concerns, your pregnancy, your birth story - they’re all part of the exam. Every detail helps me build a clinical picture before I ever begin the hands-on portion of the exam.

Most parents assume the adjustment is the most important part of a newborn’s first visit.

I don’t.

The adjustment is only as thoughtful as the evaluation that comes before it.

As someone who talks about health every single day, this trip was a good reminder that some of the most important parts of it can’t be measured.

Not because Europe has some secrets we don’t.

But because we made more time
To walk, slow down, share meals, be present, laugh, and simply enjoy being together.

Sometimes we don’t need a brand new definition of health or gadget to try to optimize it.

We just need a reminder of what matters.

As someone who will almost always lean toward conservative, holistic, low-intervention approaches whenever possible, moments like this humble me every single time.

When a bigger intervention is on the table for one of our kids, I tend to pause, overanalyze, seek multiple opinions, and mentally spiral a little before eventually getting to a place of trust and acceptance.

Motherhood keeps reminding me that supporting the body and being grateful for appropriate intervention can both exist at the same time.

Anyway, tonight I’ll be pretending to be emotionally stable while sharing a bottle of Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay with my husband and trying not to Google things I absolutely should not be Googling.
