NH Gives annual fundraising event begins tomorrow at 5:00 PM and runs for only 24 hours, ending at 5:00 PM on June 10.
This event is an important opportunity for us to raise funds that directly support our residents and help us reach our fundraising goal for the year. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference so I hope you all will consider contributing.
NH Gives is also offering several special incentives this year.

• The first donation made after 5:00 PM on June 9 earns an additional $250 for our organization.
• The first donation made at 6:03 AM on June 10 earns another $250.
• The last donation received before the event closes at 5:00 PM on June 10 earns an additional $250.

Because the event lasts only 24 hours, timing matters! If you are able, please try to log on (link below) and donate sometime during the event. Your generosity and support help us continue providing the best possible care and services to our residents.

🖐️ HIGH FIVE FRIDAY 🖐️

As we wrap up our 5-Year Anniversary celebration series, it's only fitting that our final High Five Friday spotlight features someone who has been part of the Bowman Place story almost from the very beginning.

Lead LNA and Medication Technician Esperance arrived at Bowman Place on March 15, 2021—just one week after our first residents moved in. She helped prepare rooms that were still waiting for their very first occupants and has been part of our growth ever since.

Over the past five years, Esperance has become a trusted leader, a steady presence for residents and families, and a source of support for her teammates. Her warmth, compassion, and positive attitude have made a lasting impact throughout our community.

From building meaningful connections with residents in Memory Care to mentoring fellow staff members, Esperance embodies the heart of what Bowman Place is all about. Her journey—from arriving in Manchester with her family through the refugee program to becoming a lead caregiver and earning her Medication Nursing Assistant license—is a testament to resilience, dedication, and kindness.

Thank you, Esperance, for helping shape Bowman Place into the community it is today. We are grateful for everything you do and proud to celebrate this milestone with you.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors for their generous support as we celebrate our 5-Year Anniversary! Your partnership has helped make this milestone possible, and we are truly grateful.

Tomorrow, we invite everyone to join us for a special Luau Celebration beginning at 4:00 PM as we commemorate five wonderful years of serving our community. We are so fortunate to have our current residents, the families of those we have served throughout the years, and our dedicated staff who have all been part of our journey.

Glendale will be providing an incredible spread of food, refreshing cocktails, and exciting entertainment for an evening of fun, fellowship, and celebration.

We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with all of you. Mahalo for being part of our story!

🖐️💙 HIGH FIVE FRIDAY 💙🖐️

This week’s High Five goes to our Lead LNAs Brittany and Guerline — also known around Bowman Place as The Dynamic Duo!

Together, they lead by example every day — supporting residents, mentoring new staff, and keeping teamwork at the heart of everything they do. Whether they’re training new team members or jumping in to help on the floor, these two make a huge impact on both residents and coworkers alike.

“I enjoy the residents most about working here,” says Guerline. “We talk, laugh, and even dance sometimes. It really feels like a second home.”

“And the friendships,” adds Brittany, “with both residents and coworkers. The teamwork here is great.”

Their connection to caregiving runs deep, but so does their connection to each other — and that friendship is what makes them such a strong team.

Guerline, who is originally from Haiti, also brings an extra layer of connection to her residents by being able to speak French with those who share it — often turning everyday moments into something more personal and familiar.

A beautiful day spent with residents at the New England Botanic Garden.

Everyone enjoyed the colorful gardens, and scenic views. Judging by a few of the photos, you can definitely tell some of the crew were more than ready to get out of the van after the long ride. Such a picturesque day to be outside!

🖐️💙 HIGH FIVE FRIDAY 💙🖐️

This week, we’re celebrating one of Bowman Place’s very first residents — the incredible Joan.

At nearly 98 years old, Joan still gets dressed with intention every single day — perfectly coordinated from head to toe, hair set, accessories included. After a lifetime dedicated to health, wellness, and caring for others, one thing is certain: Joan believes you should always look your best doing it.

Joan grew up in Staatsburg, New York near the Hudson River, just down the road from the Roosevelt estate in Hyde Park. Her son Scott fondly recalls that when President Roosevelt would drive by, he’d honk his horn and Joan and her siblings would run out to greet him. Fearless even as a child, Joan also had no problem knocking on his door to sell Girl Scout cookies.

After graduating from Michigan State University in 1951 with a degree in Home Economics, Joan met and married the love of her life, Robert. Together they shared 62 years of marriage, family, music, dancing, and service to others.

Whether through teaching, Meals on Wheels, church outreach, or simply caring for those around her, Joan has spent her life helping others. As her son Scott shared, “That’s been her whole life. It’s just who she is — a natural caregiver.”

As one of Bowman Place’s original residents, Joan has watched this community grow from its earliest days into the vibrant home it is today. Her family says what stands out most is the genuine care shown by the staff and the meaningful connections built here over the years.

Maybe the secret to living nearly a century is simple: dress with pride, treat others kindly, dance whenever possible, and love your family fiercely. Joan certainly makes a strong case for it. 💙
