Staying safe and playing it safe aren’t the same thing.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between safety and complacency.

There’s real value in keeping your nervous system calm and regulated. I believe that.

But I’ve also noticed that growth usually happens at the edge of your comfort zone.

Stepping out of the familiar.
Stepping into the unknown.
Getting comfortable feeling a little unsafe so you can expand your capacity.

So I’m curious where you land on this 👉 when does feeling safe support your growth, and when does it become a reason to stay small?

Tell me in the comments. I’d really love to have a discussion here.

You’ve been through some s**t. You don’t have to wait until life is perfect to feel yourself again. You get to feel good, take up space, and remember who tf you are. ✨

Have you ever felt like one part of you was reaching for your dreams while another part was quietly holding you back?

For a long time, I thought I needed more discipline.

What I’ve come to understand is that sometimes the real issue isn’t motivation—it’s that the nervous system doesn’t yet feel safe with the growth, responsibility, or change that comes with getting what we want.

That realization changed everything for me.

When we create a sense of safety first, taking the next step often becomes much easier.

Have you ever experienced this? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Lately I’ve been experimenting with something that’s changed the way I respond to resistance.

Instead of asking,
“How do I make myself do this?”

I’ve started asking,
“What part of me doesn’t feel safe right now?”

That one question has completely shifted the way I approach procrastination, growth, and taking action.

I’ve found that when I stop trying to force myself forward and instead, create a sense of internal safety, the resistance often begins to soften on its own.

The task doesn’t change.

It’s a change in my state that allows me to feel safe enough to lean into my success.

I’m curious… have you ever noticed that the harder you push yourself, the more resistance you feel?

A few weeks ago, I built a project that I was genuinely excited about.

The website was done.
The product was finished.
The checkout worked.
Everything was ready to go.

And then…

I disappeared.

Not because I didn’t believe in it.
Not because I wasn’t capable.
Not because I didn’t know what to do next.

I disappeared because I was resisting my own expansion.

It’s humbling to admit, but I’ve learned that sometimes the greatest obstacle isn’t a lack of knowledge, it’s the discomfort of becoming the person who has to be seen, take up space, and move into the next level of growth.

What I’ve come to realize is that resistance doesn’t always look like fear.

Sometimes it looks like procrastination or distraction.
Sometimes it looks like “being too busy.”
Sometimes it looks like abandoning the very thing you care about most.

Have you ever started something you were excited about and then found yourself pulling away from it for reasons you couldn’t fully explain?

Comment EXPAND if you’ve experienced this. I’d love to share what’s been helping me reclaim my passion projects lately.

Most people think they’re procrastinating.

But what if procrastination is actually resistance?

If you know what you need to do…
You want the result…
And you still can’t seem to take action…

there may be a part of your nervous system that doesn’t feel safe moving forward.

For years, I thought I needed more discipline.

What I’ve come to realize is that sometimes the issue isn’t motivation at all. Sometimes it’s learning how to create enough safety within ourselves to take the next step.

I’m curious…

Have you ever found yourself wanting something and resisting it at the exact same time?

Let’s talk about accountability.

Having someone in your corner keeping you accountable to your goals is so critical to success!

Some people are great at making and keeping commitments to themselves, but the rest of us are super skilled at talking ourselves out of the promises we’ve made to ourselves.

But when you have someone on your side that loves you, supports you, and is committed to seeing you succeed, you can’t just step off the path you really want to be going down.

This girl, , has been holding me accountable to almost 5 months of consistent weight training. And I’ve been doing the same for her.

We keep each other going. Cheering each other on for that next rep.

When it gets hard (and it really freaking does), I remind myself:

👊🏽 I can do hard things
💪🏽 I am becoming a stronger version of myself
🧠 I can achieve anything I put my mind to
✨ I am successful

And I am so freaking grateful I have the accountability to keep showing up.

I can’t stop. Cause not only would I be letting myself down, I’d be letting her down, too. And that’s just not what we’re doing here.

Tag your bestie that’s keeping you accountable.
If you need that accountability and support, comment 🙋🏻‍♀️ and name it. What are you choosing accountability for?
