This is Cosmo 🐈‍⬛

He unfortunately escaped his carrier when leaving the clinic today. His owner is very upset and would love to get him back home!

He doesn’t really know his name yet— but he does respond to “here, kitty kitty”.

He’s about 9 months old. He has some wispy white hair going around his neck. He’s super sweet and very talkative. He LOVES wet food. He’s a really good cat.

If you see or catch him, please let us know so we can help get him back to his owner!

🐾MONTANA🐾

She belongs to one of our Assistants, Stef, and over the last few years, she has been one of our very own in-clinic heroes!

She was a blood donor for the first time in February of 2023 and has donated 3 times in the last year, with yesterday being her last time—she is officially RETIRED!

Blood donation in pets looks a little different than it does for us. The donor must be 1-8 years old, be at least 55 lbs, up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives and be spayed/neutered. They must go through their own diagnostic testing to make sure they meet the requirements for the donation, like being negative for heartworms and tick-borne disease. The donors are sedated for the collection process.

There are several reasons that a pet could need a blood transfusion, but here are a few of the most common:
🩸Severe trauma resulting in blood loss
🩸Blood clotting and bleeding disorders
🩸Toxins that cause bleeding
🩸Anemia

With the only animal blood bank in Arkansas being in Springdale, it is important that we have a plan in place to be able to act quickly if a blood transfusion is needed. We have local pets that are readily available.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who showed extraordinary courage, and hold close the families forever changed by September 11, 2001.

🇺🇸 May we never forget the bravery, sacrifice, and unity shown on that day and in the days that followed.
