At STXRF, all of our guests have the opportunity to work with our Licensed Professional Counselor, Ana. She specializes in EMDR therapy, a highly effective and gentle method of gaining perspective on the past and healing younger aspects of ourselves. Through this process, Ana helps clients develop greater awareness of their conditioned emotional responses and a deeper understanding of how to meet their innate needs with compassion, empowering them to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

We are so glad to call her a friend and part of our team! ☺️

This is Rocky, our Program Director!

If you’ve spent any time around him, you’ve probably had a good laugh. His sense of humor and approachable nature have a way of helping people feel like they belong, from day one. Behind that humor is a man with a huge heart, a passion for recovery, and a genuine desire to help others. Not to mention the culinary skills of a BBQ pit master as an added bonus. 🤤

Rocky has made a lasting impact on countless men who have come through our doors, and his 12 Step classes are second to none. The insight, honesty, and personal experience he brings to the table make him an incredible mentor and leader. We’re grateful to have him as part of the South Texas Recovery Foundation family. 💙

At South Texas Recovery Foundation, our guests have the opportunity to participate in equine-assisted therapy with our Licensed Equine Therapist, Kayla. Horses teach many of the same principles that support lasting recovery—patience, consistency, responsibility, and self-awareness. They respond honestly to our energy and actions, reminding us that trust is built through steady effort and genuine connection. In recovery, learning to care for another living creature often becomes part of learning to care for ourselves, steadily healing the disconnect we once felt from ourselves, others, and the world around us.

After a month of meds and tlc our sweet Arnold passed from the infection he got. We need a buddy for Wanda, has to be very gentle and dog like.
