🌱 Home Grow 101: From Seed to Harvest 🌱 at the Den was such a good time.

Donna came prepared with a PowerPoint and plenty to teach, but after one question, the night naturally turned into conversation — and honestly, that made it even better.

Between Donna’s experience, Danny’s enthusiasm for growing, and my curiosity, we ended up talking about nodes, dry backs, watering systems, Cal-Mag, moisture meters, seed orientation, grow techniques, trichomes, and loupes. 🔍🌿

I even got to use a loupe for the first time and learned more about what clear, cloudy, and amber trichomes can tell you.

There were tips, recommendations, questions, laughs, and plenty of those little “wait…you can do WHAT?!” moments. 😂

The funny part? I didn’t take a single picture. Not one. We were too busy talking and learning.

By the end of the night, Danny was already asking if we could do something like this every month, and Donna is excited for more sessions too.

So now I’m thinking…

👀 What if the Den had a recurring space for plant enthusiasts to connect, learn, troubleshoot, share experiences, and talk all things cultivation?

We may be onto something. 🌱💚

You see SATIVA. What do you expect?
Energy? Focus? Motivation? 👀

Now look a little lower.

β-Myrcene: 1.28%
And it’s the dominant terpene.

That’s exactly why I keep saying: Sativa, Hybrid and Indica are not guarantees of effect.

This Sour Diesel is labeled Sativa, but its terpene profile is heavily myrcene-dominant. That doesn’t automatically mean it will make you sleepy, but it absolutely means you should look beyond the category before assuming how it may feel.

If you’re shopping for a specific experience, don’t stop at “Sativa” or “Indica.”

Read the cannabinoid profile. Read the terpene profile. Consider your dose. Pay attention to how similar profiles affect YOU.

The better question may not be:
“Is this a Sativa?”

It may be:
“What’s in it?” 🌿

A little garden gift turned into an elevated Margherita. 🌿🍕

I was gifted some beautiful fresh basil, and naturally I put it to work.

I made the dough from scratch and elevated it with SunMed Growers Black Cherry Gelato, then finished the pizza with crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, garden basil and olive oil.

One of the things I love about working with cannabis in the kitchen is understanding the plant beyond THC. Black Cherry Gelato’s terpene profile can include β-caryophyllene — a terpene also naturally found in aromatic herbs and spices like oregano and basil.

That kind of connection is part of what makes intentional infusion so interesting to me: understanding the flower, understanding the ingredients, and knowing how they can complement each other.

🌿 TERP TUESDAY

Curio Wellness…what exactly are y’all trying to do to us? 😭😂

Today’s little science experiment: Scotch & Soda

42.69% THCa is already enough to make you look twice, but then I got to the terpene profile:

💚 Myrcene: 1.67%
🌿 Caryophyllene: 0.51%
🍋 Limonene: 0.50%
Total terpenes: 3.37%

This is what I mean when I say look beyond the THC percentage. The whole label tells the story.

For me, this reads like a heavy indica-leaning hybrid and definitely one I’d put in the experienced-consumer category.

And apparently I also learned today that sometimes the joint is still loading the screen because 20 minutes later… 👀🤣
