Last weekend, Nature Worx attended the first "Naturalist Weekend" hosted by the Natural History Society of Maryland in Western Maryland.

From plants and fungi to moths and bats, the weekend was full of fascinating learning opportunities and inspiring conversations with fellow nature lovers. A special highlight was participating in a forest bathing session—it's not often we get to be the participants instead of the guides!

We returned with fresh knowledge, new ideas, and a renewed appreciation for the many ways nature helps us connect, learn, and grow. Thanks to everyone who made it such a wonderful experience!

Interested in learning more? The Natural History Society of Maryland offers a wide variety of classes, workshops, field trips, lectures, and special events throughout the year for nature enthusiasts of all experience levels. Just after the rain cleared yesterday, we gathered at Irvine Nature Center for a truly magical Nature Worx session. 🌿✨

A group of friends came together to celebrate a couple of birthdays as we wandered through the forest garden, paused in the peaceful meadow, and made our way to the beautiful seven-trunked sycamore. We finished our morning with gentle yoga and quiet moments of reflection.

Participants shared feelings of calm, peace, stillness, connection, and release — a beautiful reminder of how healing time in nature can be.

We’re looking forward to more gatherings at Irvine Nature Center soon. Stay tuned for upcoming events!

We had such a beautiful morning at Cromwell Valley Park today training two new Nature Worx guides. We spent time practicing the art of listening and paying attention — noticing the small details, tuning into the rhythms of nature, and experiencing what it feels like to truly slow down and observe.

One of the things we love most is finding people who bring their own gifts, skills, and fresh perspectives to this work. These two are naturals, and we’re so excited to welcome their energy and creativity into the Nature Worx community. 💚

True for kids AND adults!

Yes! Outdoor play is so important!

Who wouldn't want their kids to be happier, more focused and less anxious? (and oh so many more benefits)

We were recently invited to bring Nature Worx to Aberdeen High School, and it's been so much fun!

Tucked behind the school is a beautiful nature trail and outdoor classroom that hadn’t been used for years. With the help of a few dedicated staff members and students, we brought it back to life—and now it’s becoming a space for connection, reflection, and growth.

Today, we slowed down together. We felt the breeze, listened to the wind moving through the trees, and discovered tiny flowers hidden along the trail. We breathed in fresh air and even welcomed a few gentle raindrops.

At the end of our 45-minute session, students shared they felt calmer, more peaceful, and happier. One student even said her headache had gone away.

Moments like these remind us how powerful it is to simply step outside and reconnect.
