On Friday, numerous clinical staff members attended the annual Freedom Landing conference. Our Clinical Director, Crystal Summers, delivered an outstanding presentation as one of the speakers, sharing her perspective on self-care through her own story. All speakers demonstrated exceptional skill, and we are particularly proud of our representative's achievement. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to learn about drama therapy techniques. The Jude House's Re-entry simulation brought together a diverse group of community members to experience firsthand the challenges faced by individuals re-entering society. Through this experiential learning experience, participants gained a deeper understanding of the obstacles that can hinder successful reintegration and the role of privilege in determining outcomes. Despite initial hopes, many participants struggled with frustration, demonstrating the difficulties of re-entry. The event relied on the generosity of the Greater Waldorf Jaycees, who provided space and food, and the dedication of 20 volunteers who worked alongside 32 participants. During the month of April, our Jude House team came together in a powerful way- wearing pink to honor and support our colleague and friend, Caresse, as she bravely battles breast cancer while preparing to welcome her baby girl.

We are overjoyed to share that Baby Leah arrived healthy on May 4th. A true blessing and a reminder of strength, resilience, and the power of community.

Caresse, your courage continues to inspire us. We stand with you as you continue your treatment, and we celebrate this beautiful new life with you.
