“They have dementia, so I loved on them.”

That’s Jay Allen.

This footage was taken during one of his visits with seniors living with dementia, and it gives you a glimpse of the heart he brings into these spaces.

That’s why we’re especially excited to share that while Jay is in Montana for Music, Memories & Montana Nights, he’ll also be spending time with us at Heart to Heart Home Care. ❤️

For our team and the people we care for, this visit means a lot. Jay understands that connection doesn’t always need the perfect words. Sometimes it’s music, laughter, a hand held, or simply sitting together for a while.

We can’t wait to welcome him to Heart to Heart.

🎶 Jay Allen will also be performing at Music, Memories & Montana Nights on September 18, benefiting the Montana Gerontology Foundation.

Understanding the difference between normal aging and signs that may need more attention can help families feel a little more informed and prepared. ❤️

Forgetting a name, misplacing your keys, or occasionally losing your train of thought can happen to anyone. The bigger picture is what matters, especially when changes become more frequent, continue to worsen, or begin to affect everyday life.

If you’ve noticed changes in yourself or someone you love, a conversation with a healthcare professional can be a helpful place to start.

At Heart to Heart Home Care, we believe that understanding is an important part of providing thoughtful, compassionate care.

Save this post for reference, or share it with someone who may find it helpful.

Behind the music is a story 🎵❤️

For Jay Allen, Alzheimer’s is personal.

His mom, Sherry, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and that experience changed his life and the way he saw the disease.

It inspired him to write “Blank Stares,” a song born from the heartbreak, confusion, love, and small moments that come with watching someone you love live with Alzheimer’s.

But Jay’s story didn’t end with the song.

He has continued to use his music to honour his mom, raise awareness, and connect with families who understand just how deeply dementia can affect a family.

That’s part of what makes Music, Memories & Montana Nights so special.

It’s a night of music, yes, but it’s also about memory, connection, and bringing people together around something that touches so many families.

Understanding dementia can begin with learning to see things from a different perspective.

Through education and hands-on experiences, families, caregivers and community members can gain a better understanding of what a person living with dementia may be experiencing.

We’re grateful to Katrina for sharing how the experience helped her better understand the world from the perspective of someone living with dementia.

That kind of understanding can shape the way we communicate, support and connect with the people in our care. ❤️

Heart to Heart offers education and resources to help families and caregivers feel more informed and confident as they navigate dementia. This includes Dementia Live, an interactive training experience that helps participants gain insight into what living with dementia can feel like.

You don’t have to wait until things become overwhelming to ask for help. 🤍

Sometimes, a little extra support with everyday routines can make a big difference. Whether it’s help around the home, assistance with personal care, meal preparation, or simply having someone there for companionship, home care can help make life at home feel a little easier.

And for families, knowing that someone you love has support when you can’t always be there can bring a little peace of mind, too.

Asking for help doesn’t mean giving up independence. Sometimes, it’s what helps make staying at home possible.

If you’ve been wondering whether home care might be right for you or someone you love, we’re here to talk. 📞❤️

Every business has a "why."

Ours begins with Velma 🤍

My grandmother, Velma Pust, was a 5’1” German spitfire from Montana who lived life with strength, independence, and heart.

When Alzheimer's changed her life, it changed ours too. We learned firsthand how challenging it can be for families to navigate care without support or guidance.

That experience became the foundation of Heart to Heart Home Care 💙❤️

Because families shouldn’t have to learn the hard way like we did.

Inspired by Velma, we’re here to provide compassionate care, meaningful connections, and support when families need it most.

Care is about more than helping with a task.

It's about building trust. Getting to know someone's routines. Having a conversation. Showing up when you said you would.

For Jean, that support became something even more meaningful: a relationship she could count on.

That's the kind of care we believe in. ❤️
