Today is one of the most heartbreaking days as we soon lose a special young lady who is an angel on this earth.

I have known her as her teacher since she was a little girl for many years as students in my class stayed with me for K-5. She is present still today in my life.

When I say she is an angel, she truly is. She made my heart so happy and made my being a teacher so fulfilling. More than one can know. She was one of my special students that I adored so very much and still do, which is why it hurts so much.

She would always tilt her head sideways
to look up at me and say “You’re MY Kern”. She always said it and it melted my heart each time.

I am so glad I got to see her a few weeks ago. I wish I could be there to say goodbye though.

I am so heartbroken for her whole family who for years were very involved parents and advocates for her medical care. They empowered her to be in a special and prominent role with Night of Superstars. She had her own enterprise. And she was planning to start her own day program.

She had such a wonderful life with her loving family.

You can see how extra special she was. She made a LARGE impact on everyone around her. All of our hearts will have a big hole in it.

I wish I could say her name and post a picture, but I want to be respectful of her family. I just needed to share about this angel who made a big difference in my life as well.

I will be placing a memorial plaque in our program’s waiting room with her picture. Our program will be in honor of her especially since Kevin and I serve individuals such as her.

She will SOAR into the horizon today into God’s arms and to be with her family in heaven.

Please pray for a peaceful transition and for peace and comfort for all of her family.

We will see you someday little angel.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to let you all know that my practice will be making a short-distance move from my current practice space to the next door building, that is a hop-skip-and a jump away.

I will be at my new location on August 3.

If you accidentally walk to my old building, that is ok. You can stay parked and just walk a few steps towards the next building that looks exactly like its twin. 😉

We have waited until Kevin’s birthday today to share this special announcement. Some of our colleagues and family already know of this news, but now it’s official.

We acquired a realtor the other week to help us find a space for our day program and my practice for this unique integrated care.

Good things are coming for all of the people we serve!

Looking for an LPC or LCSW

Hi everyone!

I am an established private counseling practice that has recently become a PLLC due to much growth and expansion.

I am ready to add another LPC or LCSW to be an independent contractor with my pracrice.

I am in process of contracting with a BCBA to provide behavior services with my partnered organizations.

I never turn anyone away from services even though I am scheduling beyond my typical caseload. Therefore, it is important for me to be available and present for our people who have unique needs and difficulty finding a provider to genuinely support them.

The LPC or LCSW would a 1099 independent contractor. They will be seeing younger and older adults with I/DD, autism, ADHD, and AuDHD. They will have a control over their own schedule according to their availability. Hours may vary. There is no required amount of hours for this person to work. They may work remotely or in office as agreed upon by the clinician and client.

Many of the clients have insurance, therefore reimbursement would be based on a percentage of insurance reimbursement.

I would arrange for credentialing under my group. This can take 60-90 days so once this person is officially credentialed, they can begin working with the clients.

The counselor, the BCBA, and I may occasionally provide mutual services where an individual or the parent/caregiver may need both counseling and behavior supports.

I am so excited for this person and I
to help more people through this expansion and provide much needed support to individuals with special needs.
