Today is one of the most heartbreaking days as we soon lose a special young lady who is an angel on this earth.
I have known her as her teacher since she was a little girl for many years as students in my class stayed with me for K-5. She is present still today in my life.
When I say she is an angel, she truly is. She made my heart so happy and made my being a teacher so fulfilling. More than one can know. She was one of my special students that I adored so very much and still do, which is why it hurts so much.
She would always tilt her head sideways
to look up at me and say “You’re MY Kern”. She always said it and it melted my heart each time.
I am so glad I got to see her a few weeks ago. I wish I could be there to say goodbye though.
I am so heartbroken for her whole family who for years were very involved parents and advocates for her medical care. They empowered her to be in a special and prominent role with Night of Superstars. She had her own enterprise. And she was planning to start her own day program.
She had such a wonderful life with her loving family.
You can see how extra special she was. She made a LARGE impact on everyone around her. All of our hearts will have a big hole in it.
I wish I could say her name and post a picture, but I want to be respectful of her family. I just needed to share about this angel who made a big difference in my life as well.
I will be placing a memorial plaque in our program’s waiting room with her picture. Our program will be in honor of her especially since Kevin and I serve individuals such as her.
She will SOAR into the horizon today into God’s arms and to be with her family in heaven.
Please pray for a peaceful transition and for peace and comfort for all of her family.
We will see you someday little angel.
