We recently had the privilege of completing and installing this beautiful granite memorial bench for the Wyngaard family. A place to sit, reflect, remember, and feel a little closer to someone who meant so much.

Every memorial we create is personal, and we’re grateful to the families who trust Happy Valley Monuments to help create a lasting tribute to the people they love.

Beautifully designed. Built to last. Made to remember. ❤️

The long, snowy months are finally behind us, and the first signs of spring are starting to break through. 🌤️

After enduring winter’s harsh weather, many memorials are left looking faded, stained, or covered in seasonal buildup. A professional cleaning can make an incredible difference, restoring the stone’s appearance and helping to protect it going forward.

Look at these before and after photos to see how a spring cleaning can bring new life and clarity back to your loved one’s memorial. 🌤️🌱✨

Contact us today to schedule a spring cleaning that will renew your loved one’s memorial and keep it looking cared for through the seasons ahead.

Slant Markers offer a beautiful balance of visibility and simplicity.🌿

With a gently angled face, this style is designed for easy readability while maintaining a modest, upright presence in the cemetery.

Families often choose slants because they provide more space for personalization than a flat marker yet keep a lower profile than a traditional upright monument. They’re a timeless option that blends elegance, durability, and practicality.

If you’re exploring memorial options, a Slant Marker can be a meaningful way to honor a loved one with a design that feels both classic and approachable.🕊️✨

Traditional upright headstones remain one of the most meaningful ways to honor a loved one. Their height, presence, and personalization options create a lasting tribute that stands beautifully through the years.

02/21/2026

🌿Traditional upright headstones are the classic and most recognizable style of memorial.

They are crafted from two primary components:
• The tablet/die: the vertical piece where names, dates, and artwork are engraved.
• The base: the horizontal foundation that supports the tablet and provides stability.

Upright memorials offer the timeless appearance many families prefer. Their height makes them easy to locate within the cemetery, and they provide the greatest amount of space for personalization, from inscriptions and symbols to detailed design elements that reflect a loved one’s life.

Not only can the front of the tablet be engraved, but the back can also be personalized, allowing families to create a memorial that truly represents their loved one.🕊

Determining the right type of memorial can feel overwhelming, and that’s completely normal. With so many shapes, styles, and personalization options available, it’s natural to have questions as you explore what best honors your loved one.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting each type of memorial listed below to help you understand the differences and find the one that feels right for you and your family.

Types of Monuments
• Traditional Upright – A classic vertical tablet set on a base, offering a timeless and highly visible tribute.
• Slant Marker – An upright memorial with a gently slanted face for easy readability.
• Bevel Marker – A low profile marker with a slightly raised, angled surface.
• Flat Marker – A simple, elegant marker that sits level with the ground.
• Bronze Flat Markers – Flat markers featuring a bronze plaque mounted on a granite base for a classic, enduring appearance.
• Traditium – A versatile memorial designed to hold cremated remains or serve as a traditional marker with space for cherished keepsakes. This option offers families a dignified and meaningful way to honor their loved one, whether choosing cremation or seeking a classic monument with added personal significance.
• Bench Memorial – A functional memorial that provides seating for visitors while honoring a loved one.
• Custom Memorials – Unique shapes and designs crafted to reflect personal stories, interests, or family traditions.
