Hospice is a special healthcare option for patients and families who are faced with a terminal illness. A multi-disciplinary team of physician, nurses, social workers, bereavement counselors and volunteers works together to address the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient and family. Hospice of Southern Illinois provides specialized care services (patient care including

symptom management, emotional support, spiritual support and psychosocial intervention), addressing issues most important to the patient’s needs and wants at the end of their life focusing on improving the individual’s quality of life. When is it time for hospice? 1) The patient has a terminal illness with a prognosis of 6 months or less, 2) Comfort care and symptom management become the primary focus, 3) Curative treatment is no longer the patient's choice or option.

Hospice of Southern Illinois had the opportunity to volunteer last week with Hoyleton Youth and Family Services! Our team donated their time to sort, stuff, and tag backpacks with school supplies for children and families served by Hoyleton Youth and Family Services. A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made our Marion 21st Annual Hospice of Southern Illinois Golf Benefit such an incredible success! ⛳

The day may have started with rain, but thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our golfers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters, the skies cleared, and it turned into a beautiful day on the course. We are so grateful to everyone who braved the weather and joined us to support our mission.

Events like our Golf Benefit are so much more than a day of friendly competition; they help provide compassionate, high-quality hospice care, grief support, and services to patients and families throughout the communities we serve.
