Welcome to the 2026 RWJBarnabas Health Student Nurse Externs!

This summer, we proudly welcome 100+ nursing students from across the region for an immersive clinical experience designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional nursing practice. Over the next 10 weeks, each extern will be paired one-on-one with an experienced RN preceptor, providing individualized mentorship, guidance, and hands-on learning opportunities in a variety of specialty areas.

Through direct patient care experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and exposure to the culture of nursing excellence that defines RWJBarnabas Health, these future nurses will build the skills, confidence, and professional relationships that will help shape their careers. We’re excited to support their journey and invest in the next generation of nursing professionals!

We are incredibly grateful to broadcaster, author, leadership coach and Emmy® Award-winning anchor Steve Adubato for leading an inspiring mini-retreat for our leadership team at Clara Maass Medical Center. Through meaningful conversation, powerful insights, and a lot of laughs, Steve challenged us to think differently about leadership, communication and the impact we have on each other and those we serve every day.

RWJBarnabas Health has earned Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in recognition of the health system’s excellence and consistency in delivering heart care!

This designation follows a rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients in each of our 11 cardiac catheterization labs across RWJBarnabas Health.

The accreditation confirms RWJBarnabas Health’s successful implementation of standardized, evidence‑based practices across all hospital locations, reducing variation in care and ensuring that patients receive the same high‑quality treatment no matter which cardiac catheterization lab they visit across the system.
