Congratulations to this BLS crew and the responding ALS team for an exceptional job and a true team effort in saving this patient's life.
The BLS crew's quick assessment, recognition that the patient needed a higher level of care, and prompt request for ALS assistance set the stage for a successful outcome. Their early interventions, professionalism, and calm management of a critically ill patient were vital to this patient's survival.
Upon arrival, the ALS crew seamlessly joined the effort, providing advanced care and performing cardioversion when the patient's condition required it. Through excellent teamwork, communication, and clinical decision-making, both crews worked together to manage a rapidly evolving situation. Despite the need to shock the patient multiple times, the crews remained focused and committed, ultimately achieving an incredible outcome.
This call is a great example of how early recognition, rapid intervention, and strong collaboration between BLS and ALS providers can make the difference between life and death. MedStar Ambulance

Today, we’re recognizing something truly powerful, the combination of hard work and teamwork that made a real difference in someone’s life.
In moments of crisis, there’s no room for hesitation. It takes training, trust, and a shared commitment to step in and do what needs to be done. Every decision, every action, and every second matters.
What this team demonstrated was more than skill, it was coordination, communication, and the kind of dedication that turns effort into impact. Because of that, a life was saved.
That’s not something we take lightly. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do and the difference we can make when we work together.
To this team, thank you for your hard work, your professionalism, and your commitment to serving others. Your actions truly matter.
This is the very definition of a job well done.” Monroe County EMS
